Daily Fantasy Hockey Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings 11/18/17

Hello hockey fans and welcome to a very busy Saturday of NHL action here at DFSR. Today, we have a split slate with five afternoon games and eight evening games and we have a variety of choices for you in each slate. Let's get started with some picks shall we?

Mike Condon FD - $7400 DK - $8200

I'm not in love with this pick, but anyone who gets between the pipes against the Coyotes and their league-worst offense deserves consideration and today it's Mike Condon who is 1-0-1 in three starts, but he has a below average 3.01 GAA and a .906 save percentage. I'm willing to ignore his sub-par numbers today though and side with the Vegas odds which are currently -195 in favor of the Senators. Condon is a fine cash game play for the early slate.

Late

Andrei Vasilevskiy FD - $9500 DK - $8100
Opponent - NYI
Proj Pts FD - 15.21 DK - 3.8

It isn't only Tampa Bay's offense that has been spectacular, their defensive play and especially their goaltending has been phenomenal as well. This young tender has yet to lose a game in regulation time on home ice and he has a ridiculous record of 14-1-1 and he has only allowed one goal in each of his last three games. Las Vegas thinks that the Lightning will win tonight as they are currently listed as -185 favorites and Vasilevskiy is completely matchup proof until proven otherwise. The Russian goalie is my top choice in cash game formats for the evening slate.

CENTERS

Early

Mark Scheifele FD - $8200 DK - $7200
Opponent - NJ
Proj Pts FD - 14.33 DK - 4.15

Spending up at center feels like the right thing to do today for every slate and don't worry because there is a fair amount of value at the winger and defense positions. Let's start with the early slate and Mark Scheifele who is turning into a superstar right before our eyes. In his last five games, he has four goals, three assists, and 13 shots and on the season, the American center is tied for 10th with 22 points and tied for fifth with 12 goals. The Devils are only average defensively and Scheifele is an elite play in all formats.

Stack with: Blake Wheeler, Kyle Connor

Late

Brayden Schenn FD - $6800 DK - $6300
Opponent - VAN
Proj Pts FD - 12.35 DK - 3.98

Apparently, matching this playmaker with Vladimir Tarasenko was a genius move as Schenn is on a lengthy six-game point streak with four goals and 10 assists and he has fired 13 shots on goal in his last three games. The young center is now tied for fourth with 25 points and tied for third with 18 assists and he plays on the Blues' deadly top line and #1 PP unit. Lock him into your lineups in all formats with extreme confidence this evening.

Steven Stamkos FD - $8900 DK - $7900
Opponent - NYI
Proj Pts FD - 16.58 DK - 5.25

Can anyone slow Tampa down? The Superstar center recorded four points last game to give him three goals and seven assists in his last five and he leads the league in points(35), assists(25), and PP goals(seven). He always has a safe floor to go along with an unlimited ceiling as he forms the league's most dynamic duo with sniper Nikita Kucherov. He is an elite play in all formats this evening and fade Stammer at your own risk.

WINGERS

Early

Mark Stone FD - $6400 DK - $6800
Opponent - ARI
Proj Pts FD - 15.39 DK - 4.31

This young man has really started to mature as a player over the last couple of years and he has already scored 12 goals this season which is ranked fourth in the league.  In his last five games, the Winnipeg native has five goals, two assists and a whopping 18 shots on goal. He plays on the #1 line and the #1 PP unit for the Senators and the Coyotes give up a league-worst 3.90 goals per game, so lock and load Stone in all formats for the early slate.

Late

Jason Zucker FD - $6100 DK - $5900
Opponent - WAS
Proj Pts FD - 14.18 DK - 3.98

I am really enjoying the 2017-18 NHL season so far and it's because of guys like Zucker who has been sniping goals like crazy lately. He is on a blazing hot six-game point streak with eight goals, an assist and 20 shots on goal and he is tied for 5th in the league with 11 total goals scored this season. The Capitals rank eighth worst in the league defensively so fire Zucker up in all formats this evening.

Stack with: Mikael Granlund, Mikko Koivu

Alex Debrincat FD - $4800 DK - $4000
Opponent - PIT
Proj Pts FD - 7.08 DK - 2.04

The 39th overall pick in the 2016 entry draft is turning heads already in his rookie season. In his last three games, the young American winger has four goals and an assist in his last three games while averaging a respectable 15 minutes of ice time and he has averaged 3.30 shots on goal in those three games. He has also been seeing time on the #2 PP unit, so at these prices, rostering Debrincat allows us to fit a couple of higher priced players into our lineups in a variety of formats.

Stack with: Patrick Sharp, Ryan Hartman

 

DEFENSEMEN

Early

Darnell Nurse FD - $3600 DK - $3400
Opponent - DAL
Proj Pts FD - 7.48 DK - 2.22

There is nothing glamourous about this pick, but the reasoning behind a selection like this is that we save money to spend elsewhere. While he offers very little upside, Nurse has a very safe floor from a PTS/$ perspecitve as he has 11 shots and seven blocks in his last three games while averaging around 22 minutes of ice-time. Lock him into your cash game lineups today.

Late

Roman Josi FD - $5900 DK - $5600
Opponent - COL
Proj Pts FD - 12.36 DK - 4.25

The workhorse point, on the other hand, and has an enormous ceiling with his blistering shot and the fact that QB's the #1 PP unit for the Predators. He ranks first amongst defensemen with two PP goals and seventh with 58 shots on goal and he has already had three multi-point games this season. The Avalanche give up 3.35 goals per game which is seventh worst in the league so fire Josi up in GPP lineups for the main evening slate.
