What We Know

George Hill has been ruled out tonight for the Kings, while Buddy Hield is listed as probable.
Hill we be out tonight for personal reasons and will not play in tonight's game against the Pistons. Buddy Hield meanwhile has been listed as probably with a sprained ankle, but is fully expected to play. De'Aaron Fox should draw the start in place of Hill, though the last time he started at the point he was a fantasy let down in just 26 minutes of run time.

If you read last night's picks article for today you know the system was extremely high on the Warriors matchup with the Nuggets primarily from the Golden State side. We spotlighted Klay, Dray, and the two gentlemen pictured above, Steph Curry, and Kevin Durant. Well, Steph and KD appear in each of the top 25 lineups being put out by our optimizer as we head through the afternoon towards tonight's lock time. I should note, Steph actually appears in the top 25 on both FanDuel and DraftKings while KD is a FD only every lineup guy. I will provide a second DraftKings play in a moment but first a review on the Warriors and why we're so high on them tonight. First is the line, the game opened at a 229.5 total projection and has only shifted down by a point this afternoon with the Warriors moving from an eight point to a nine point favorite. While that pushes on blowout territory when talking about Golden State this spread actually trends to the lower side. Defensively, Curry finds himself in a great spot facing a Nuggets back court that is easily exploitable against opposing point guards, allowing 22.9 points and 8.8 assists per game this season, while conversely the Nuggets have been a bear for opposing small forwards, surrendering just 27.5 fantasy points on average to the position, but that includes games against the Hawks, the Nets, and the Knicks. This is Golden State. Both Steph and KD are Elite plays tonight in all formats.

I'm not saying to not play Durant on DraftKings, I'm just saying he doesn't appear in all of the top lineups. So for our second DK every lineup play we have Karl-Anthony Towns. KAT found himself in foul trouble early Wednesday night against the Pelicans, putting out one of the more disappointing showings of his young career. He ended the night with a mere 2/5/0 line in only 22 minutes. This was only the eleventh time in 171 career starts that Towns has been limited to single digits in the scoring column, and it stands to argue he is looking for a big bounceback performance tonight as the Mavericks come north. In spite of what went down on Wednesday KAT has been one of the more reliable plays in DFS in his young career, and the price has come down a bit in the interim. Some of the grudge holders may be off of Towns after being burnt last time out, but we know better. We recognize Towns as an excellent cash play, who could also go low owned in tournaments due to those who opt to fade him, making Karl-Anthony an excellent play in all formats.
