With so many bad pitchers on this slate, we may be able to throw a squad of 9 together and put up some runs in a couple of these parks. I mean, I can't fathom the reason for guys like Homer Bailey and Anibal Sanchez to be around. Do these teams not realize how absolutely horrid they are? Is there no point in trying to get a young guy some experience in the majors or try to transition a strong bullpen arm into a starter? I guess these franchises just want to lose now and in the future. I don't get it. Mostly because a guy like Anibal Sanchez is almost as bad as you can possibly be. You won't see a pitcher put up much worse numbers over the same time period. What are these horrid numbers I speak of? Against righties, .409 wOBA. Lefties? .363. In 70 innings of work, he's allowed an astounding 21 home runs. He now moves from Comerica Park to Globe Life, which is a top 5 hitting park in the summer months. The Rangers hold an implied team total over 6 and is an offense you almost need exposure to. Joey Gallo and Rougned Odor are my 2 favorites, with Mazara and Choo just about tied with them. You can go anywhere in this order and obviously guys like Adrian Beltre can go nuts. That goes without being said.
Main Stack - Rougned Odor, Joey Gallo, Nomar Mazara, Delino Deshields
Sneaky Stack - Rougned Odor, Joey Gallo, Adrian Beltre, Elvis Andrus
While most people let their fandom get the best of them, I may be the opposite. As a Cubs fan, I sometimes find myself trying to stay away as I try not to lean towards my bias. In result, it skews my results the other way. Tonight is not the night where I'll be considering the option of fading. I'm playing these Cubs and I'm willing to go down with the ship. Homer Bailey, who's basically the Cincy Anibal Sanchez, doesn't have much left in the tank. At just 31 years old, his slow velocity has already dropped nearly 3 MPH. With a .474 wOBA against righties and a .366 against lefties, Bailey is good at exactly nothing. Unless you consider giving up homers a skill, in which case he was literally and figuratively born with it. Homer Bailey is going to get plastered for the rest of the season and I see the Cubs doing a pretty good job. As per the usual, Rizzo and Bryant lead the pack. They are the top options and there isn't much else to say. Schwarber and Avila are next and both will be cash game options for me. Wait until the lineup is out and take a shot on a few of these Cubs bats, who have insane upside here.
Main Stack - Anthony Rizzo, Kris Bryant, Kyle Schwarber, Alex Avila
Sneaky Stack - Anthony Rizzo, Kris Bryant, Tommy La Stella, Javier Baez
