Pitchers
Jacob deGrom FD 10600 DK 12700
Opponent - PHI (Velasquez) Park - @PHI
FD - 40.95 DK - 22.37
The Phillies offense has been much better as of late but they still rank as one of the best matchups when we are targeting our pitchers. They rank in the bottom third of the league in wOBA, wRC+, and ISO against right-handed pitching and have struck out over 23% of the time. The discount in salary is what had Paxton in the main article over deGrom but when looking at raw points, he is right there at the top. Since getting torched for 15 earned runs at the end of May/start of June(2 starts), deGrom has been elite with a 1.98 ERA and has allowed more than five hits just twice in 10 starts. He is the most expensive option on both sites but the matchup and upside is enough for us to consider him in all formats.
Brad Peacock FD 8300 DK 9500
Opponent - CHW (Rodon) Park - @CHW
FD - 33.9 DK - 17.59
This pick has much more of a GPP feel to it tonight as Peacock is coming off a blow up where he allowed seven earned runs to the Jays and only went three and four innings in the two starts before that. I think he will be just fine tonight, especially considering that he gets an elite matchup vs. the White Sox. They rank second to last when looking at all the hitting metrics vs. right-handed pitching and over the last 14 days they have seen their K rate sky rocket to a 26% rate overall. The big issue that holds him back from being an elite play in all formats is the walk rate(4.47 BB/9) but the good news is that he has not walked more than two batters in four straight starts.
