Hello football fans and welcome to another week of CFL action at DFSR. We have a four-game slate this week with the action starting Thursday night at 7:30 pm central time. It is an exciting league north of the border, so let's get started with some picks, shall we?

Montreal @ Winnipeg -3.5 (Total - 51.0)

BC @ Edmonton -1.5 (Total - 54.5)

Toronto @ Saskatchewan -3.0 (Total - 52.5)

Hamilton @ Calgary-13.0 (Total - 55.0)

QUARTERBACK

BO-LEVI MITCHELL - CALGARY STAMPEDERS - $10,800

This is an easy choice for me this week as the Stampeders are about to play the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, who wouldn't even be able to cover a single bed with a king-sized sheet. I would seriously consider the local high school QB here. No, I am not joking. The Ti-Cats allow an average of 402 yards through the air per game (yikes), 8.35 yards per play (wow) and 35.25 points per game (seriously?) They are easily ranked dead last in those categories by the way. Bo-Levi is a CFL superstar and he already has 1635 passing yards for nine TD's which works out for an average of 22.9 dk points per game. He will be very popular, so we should look elsewhere for our GPP's, but he's by far my top cash game play of the week at the QB position.

MIKE REILLY - EDMONTON ESKIMOS - $11,000

Saving money at this position is very tough and we can easily find value at WR and RB anyway. Everyone and their ancestors will be all over Bo-Levi this week, so this guy looks good as a lower Owned GPP play. He's been very consistent so far this season. In four games Reilly has 1216 yards, seven TD's and no interceptions. The Eskimos have a much more balanced attack this year, which takes value away from Reilly, but if they get down a bit early on, they could abandon the run and Reilly could have a monster of a game.

RUNNING BACK

ANTHONY COOMBS TORONTO ARGONAUTS - $5300

Okay, so the reason why Coombs is $2200 cheaper than Harris is because he only rushes the ball once or twice per game. He is a WR in the backfield basically. Since Posey has been injured, Ricky Ray looks to this guy as his safety blanket and in the last two weeks, he has 16 catches for 167 yards and a TD. Basically, you are getting WR production at these cheap prices. If you can't afford Harris, then I like Coombs as a cheaper alternative in all formats, or even as a second flex option.

ANDREW HARRIS - WINNIPEG BLUE BOMBERS - $7500

If you were to look at this guy's rushing stats only, you probably aren't too impressed. But he does have 199 yards and two rushing TD's. If you look at his receiving stats though, you will understand why he is my favorite RB this week. Draftkings gives us a point for every reception, so the first thing to look at, especially in the CFL, is how much a RB is involved in the passing game. Harris is very much involved as he already has 28 catches for 205 yards and last week, he caught all 12 of his targets for 85 yards. That's impressive and he's a very tough fade for me in all formats this week.

WIDE RECEIVER

KAMAR JORDEN - CALGARY STAMPEDERS - $8500

If we were to quit the season right now, the MVP award would undoubdebtly go to this young man. He's been a human machine out there on the football field. After only five weeks, Jorden has 31 catches for 468 yards and 5 total TD's for an average of 22.2 dk points per game. He has established himself as Bo-Levi's favorite red-zone target, as well as his #1 overall option. Jorden is an elite play in all formats against a very leaky Ti-Cat secondary.

LEMAR DURANT - CALGARY STAMPEDERS - $5200

There will be a ton of targets to go around for the Stampeders this week because Hamilton actually has a solid run defense. Teams have been destroying them through the air though. This youngster is actually the fourth option in Calgary, but he has still caught 18 of 23 passes for 273 yards and two TD's. He isn't a safe play by any means, but if Calgary is way ahead in the second half, look for them to rest most of their top players. Durant will stay in the game though and he will see a ton of targets. Stack him with Jorden and Mitchell and you could take down a large tourney or two.

BRANDON ZYLSTRA - EDMONTON ESKIMOS - $8900

I love the one expensive, one cheap WR options on my two favorite offenses this week. We covered Calgary, now let's cover Edmonton. Let's start with this guy who has been one of the most reliable WR's in the league so far this season. After only four games, Zylstra has caught 29 of 34 passes for 409 yards. He has yet to score a TD and he still averages 20.8 Draftkings points per game. As long as Edmonton's #1 WR Adarius Bowman is still injured, which should be for a couple more weeks, Zylstra is a great play in all formats against an average BC pass defense and he's overdue for a touchdown, which only sweetens the deal even more.

BRYANT MITCHELL - EDMONTON ESKIMOS - $4000

This guy filled in for Adarius Bowman last week and he did an admirable job. The virtual unknown WR caught 5 passes for 76 yards and a TD. At these prices I just can't see fading Mitchell in any format, as long as he has the same role again, which it is almost certain that he will.

ERNEST JACKSON - MONTREAL ALOUETTES - $6900

I was debating my last WR selection until it was just announced that Tiquan Underwood is out this week. This means more targets for Jackson and he is a tough fade this week. A negative factor is the fact that Montreal normally plays at a very slow pace until last week, when Darian Durant threw for 452 yards and three receivers went off for over 100 receiving yards each. This guy was one of them and he now has 12 catches for 219 yards in his last two games. The Blue Bombers have a weak secondary as they rank second worst in the league with 352 passing yards allowed per game. Jackson and his QB Dariant Durant have found some chemistry and he is a solid gpp play this week and I may even consider him in cash games.

DEFENSE/SPECIAL TEAMS

CALGARY STAMPEDERS $5100

It is just common sense to take the Stamps this week as they are -13.0 favorites against the lowly Ti-Cats. Calgary already has three defensive TD's, 14 sacks, five interceptions and three defensive fumble recoveries after five games. This game could get ugly fast and look for Calgary to pad their defensive stats this week.
