While I prefer other options for cash games, I think Darvish makes a fairly high upside play that should come in under owned in tournaments with all the options at the top tonight. After posting an elite 11.8 K/9 rate in 2016, Darvish has lost some of the upside but still strikes out over a batter per inning and is still generating over 11% swinging strikes which is very promising. The matchup vs. the Rays is a tricky one to read as they rank Top 5 in overall hitting(wOBA/wRC+) against right-handed pitching but strike out over 24% of the time. The Rangers are currently -145 favorites while the Rays implied total sits below four.

If you frequent the DFSR articles and projections, you are probably not at all surprised to see Shark at the top of the PTS/$ rankings. This will almost ensure that he is back in the optimizer lineups tonight as the value allows you to get a huge upgrade in the bats, especially if you were to pair him with Aaron Nola on DraftKings. Personally, I won't be using Shark in cash as the blow up is always right around the corner and a perfect example was his last start against these Padres where he allowed seven earned runs. He did show the strikeout upside with eight and he enters tonight with a 9.8 K/9 rate and 10.8% swinging strike rate. This will be the third time he will face the Padres and their 29th ranked offense(wOBA/wRC+) and I will definitely have shares in GPP's tonight.
