If you're having a hard time finding many non-obvious pitching choices you like today, there's a good reason why. Vegas has seven of the offenses on the main slate with implied run totals north of five, and one more (Toronto) pretty close. Many, many choices tonight when it comes to stacking, so we apologize in advance if these picks come off as a little chalky, but even on slate that's this offense-centric, there's no way we can not talk about the Astros taking on Nick Martinez. There's just no reason to get cute here. The Astros are one of the best lineups in baseball, ranking 2nd in wOBA and wRC+ vs. RHP, with a league-best 18% K rate. Meanwhile, Nick Martinez is on the polar opposite end of the excellence spectrum. In other words, he's terrible. He doesn't strike people out, he gives up loads of homers, and he gets mashed by lefties (.354 career wOBA) and righties (.348). To give you an idea of how bad he's been, his 4.99 xFIP this season would represent a career best if he can hold it. Of course, the Astros won't come cheap, but it's not like you're paying Coors-type premiums here, so you should be able to fit them in, especially if you go the discount route at SP. Virtually every guy in the lineup is in play. All of the following have a wOBA over .340 vs. RHP this season: Carlos Correa, Jose Altuve, Marwin Gonzalez, Jake Marisnick (small sample alert), Yuli Gurriel, Josh Reddick and Evan Gattis. You'll notice George Springer and Carlos Beltran are not included, but they've both got an ISO over .200 in the split, so you can play them, too.
Knuckleballers are tough, and perhaps no pitch type comes with more variance. But that fact kinda makes them the perfect guys to pick on in GPPs, because when they're bad, they tend to get blown up. And Dickey has been frequently bad this season, yielding at least four runs in four of his last seven starts. And of course, the Nats lineup is loaded. They lead the NL in wRC+, wOBA and ISO this season, and you've got usable options throughout the lineup, depending the pricepoint you're shopping at. That said, on the off chance that the knuckler is dancing (and because they'll probably be highly owned), it might be wise to keep your exposure to the Nats bats in check. But in one form or another, we think you're going to want some Nats lineups, because you don't want to miss out completely if they start cranking out crooked numbers.

Another day of grudgingly writing up the Red Sox. I wasn't gonna do it, but that implied total and Mookie Betts' FanDuel price just won't let me get away. Our projection system is really high on everybody in the Boston lineup against rookie Ben Lively, a so-so prospect who doesn't miss bats and gives up loads of fly balls. That kind of combo should play well in Fenway, as the Red Sox are one of the best teams in baseball in terms of making contact and they'll probably be taking some shots at the Monster without fear of the swing-and-miss tonight. And even though the lineup has been pretty mediocre vs. RHP this season, there are plenty of individual parts to build around, starting with Betts (.360 wOBA vs. RHP), Bogaerts (.360), Mitch Moreland (.370, .226 ISO) and Hanley Ramirez (.348).
