Daily Fantasy NBA News and Injury Updates for FanDuel and DraftKings - 4/7/17
Welcome to the daily updates and injury news article. We'll try and update it right up to line-up locks with as much information as comes across our desks. Let's get to it!
Last night's picks can be found here, so you can wrap your mind around what you need to be looking at before lineups lock tonight.
By the way - we keep our projection system updated with all of the changes as they occur throughout the day right up until lineup lock. Every day. If you want access to that system so you can cut out a lot of the research element, click the button below!
What We Know
Kawhi Leonard, LaMarcus Aldridge, Pau Gasol, Manu Ginobili, and Danny Green will all rest against the Mavericks
The Spurs are locked into the 2nd seed, so there is no reason to get these guys tired against the Mavs. Jonathon Simmons, Kyle Anderson, Davis Bertans, David Lee, Dewayne Dedmon, and Patty Mills should all get big minutes. Bryn Forbes and Tony Parker could also pick up minutes, but I will only have them in tournaments. The rest of those guys are all viable in cash games at such low prices.
Paul Millsap has been ruled out for rest
The Hawks announced Millsap will sit out the 2nd half of the B2B, which happens to be tonight. Dwight Howard and Dennis Schroder will both see an uptick in usage. Ersan Ilyasova will pick up 28 minutes and makes for a solid cash game option.
Kristaps Porzingis and Carmelo Anthony have been ruled out against the Grizzlies
With Rose already ruled out, this team is a dumpster fire. Guillermo Hernangomez is still the only guy I can trust to get solid minutes. Ron Baker, Justin Holiday, and Courtney Lee are all solid tournament options as well. This is a pretty tough match-up against the slow Memphis Grizzlies.
Will Barton and Jameer Nelson have been ruled out against the Pelicans
Jamal Murray and Gary Harris are both solid options in a game that should stay close. With Wilson Chandler also questionable, Danilo Gallinari could be in for a big workload.
George Hill is doubtful to play against the Timberwolves
Dante Exum and Shelvin Mack could both see big minutes, but I don't think either are necessary. Gordon Hayward could see an extended amount of time at the point and is pretty safe in cash games.
What We're Waiting to Know
DeMarcus Cousins is questionable to play with a sore achilles
Cousins is obviously the biggest piece of news today, so we will be waiting to see what happens here. If Cousins plays, I don't think he will get big minutes either way and will avoid him. If Cousins is out, Anthony Davis is a near must-play on a slate like this. Davis has a 50 point floor against the Nuggets if Cousins is out. Jrue Holiday would also pick up some shots and usage.
The "Every Lineup" Guys
Larry Nance Jr.
Larry Nance might never see the 40 minutes he saw the other night, but he will continuously see 25-30. This match-up with the Kings is fantastic for Nance as they have ranked in the bottom 5 against power forwards. Nance has been at 1.3 FP per minute in the last 10 and those numbers should increase as his usage follows. AT such a low price, you can pencil in 25 fantasy points with the upside for 40. The Lakers have nothing to play for and there is no reason to keep Nance contained.
Russell Westbrook
The Thunder have met up with the Suns three times this season, where Westbrook has put up fantasy point totals of 84, 80, and 72. The Suns are not good at all against point guards and give up nearly 57 fantasy points per game. Tyler Ulis is extremely under-sized and Westbrook will demolish him. The Suns play faster than the Thunder and is only 1 of 7 teams to do that. Westbrook may be expensive, but there's plenty of value on this slate. Westbrook has too much upside to overlook in both cash games and tournaments.
