Hello hockey fans and welcome to a nice and cozy three-game Monday slate in the NHL here at DFSR. Today we have only one team, the Buffalo Sabres playing in back-to-back games, so there should be some well-rested teams out there. Let's not waste any more time and look at some picks from the projection system.

It's nice to see this superstar goalie healthy as a horse again and he's as happy as ever as his team is very close to locking up the Atlantic Division in the Eastern Conference. Price has been right lately as he has won four games in a row while allowing only four goals in the process. The Canadian net-minder has also won six of his last eight games and 12 of his last 14, while posting a goals against average of 1.50. Him and the Habs defeated the Panthers in Montreal two games ago as he allowed only two goals. The Panthers are down to their third string goalie and they are eliminated from playoff contention. There are no Vegas odds out for this game yet, but I expect the Habs to be at least -160 favorites to come away with a road victory this evening and possibly clinch their division. Price is an elite play in all formats.
Also Consider: Frederik Andersen (TOR)

Wow, is this rookie sensation running away with the Calder trophy or what? He's leaving Laine and company in the dust and fading him at this moment could be a dangerous proposition. The #1 overall pick in last year's draft is on a very lengthy eight game point streak with seven goals, four assists and 27 shots on goal. That gives him 38 goals and 28 assists this season which is very impressive for a rookie. He has averaged 3.4 shots per game during his eight game streak which is exactly what his season average is. Matthews is "safe" and has a tremendous amount of upside against the Sabres and their 21st ranked defense and 25th ranked penalty kill. He is easily the top center play today

A French Canadian guy playing in Montreal may get favorited a tiny bit, especially when he gives the fans what they want. It's a tough crowd in the Bell Centre and a tough city to play in, but you will be rewarded if you deserve it. Well, this dude has been playing well and he was bumped up to the top scoring line with two very talented players. He has two goals, two assists and 8 shots on goal in his last three games while averaging 16 minutes of ice- time. As long as he is playing on the #1 line in Montreal and from a PTS/$ perspective, he is a solid cash game play and he has upside for tournaments this evening against a below average 16th ranked Panthers defense.

We need to get exposure to the Senators today as they are about to face the Wings and their 25th ranked defense. The young Canadian winger has three goals in his last two games while averaging 20 minutes of ice time and he fired seven shots on goal in his last game. He also has points in eight of his last nine games while scoring four goals and adding five assists during that time. Normally, on a full slate, Hoffman would be a solid play. Today though with a tiny three-game slate, he is an elite play in all formats.
Stack with: Kyle Turris, (PP) Mark Stone, (PP) Derek Brassard (PP)

Holy mackerel, this guy has been shooting the puck on net from anywhere and everywhere lately. The former Jet scored a goal on eight shots last night and has 16 shots on goal in his last two games while logging an average of a whopping 25 minutes of ice-time. The young sniper has two goals on 27 shots in his last four games which works out to an average of 6.75 shots per game. He plays on the #1 line and the #1 PP unit in Buffalo and while the Leafs have a potent offense, they are ranked 19th on defense. Like Hoffman, Kane is also an elite play in all formats today.
Stack with: Ryan O'Reilly, Jack Eichel (PP)

Oh my goodness, even for a three-game slate, this is probably as bad as I've ever witnessed the defense position. That's obvious as this guy makes the top of my list. In his defense, though, the wily veteran has been showing the Red-Wings that he is not done just yet and he can still play on both the powerplay and on the penalty kill units. He has two goals (1 on the PP) and nine shots on goal in his last two games while averaging close to 23 minutes of ice-time. He doesn't block many shots and he can disappear at times, but we need to roster two defensemen today. Just think, everyone else playing NHL DFS today has the same problem here that we do, but most of them aren't willing to dig as deep as we are to find decent plays. You could do worse than Green today in all formats.

Come on Dion! Karlsson is injured and now Ceci is injured, so you should be tearing it up out there. But no, you decide to just skate around and do whatever you feel like doing. He may be doing well from a real-life perspective, but as fantasy players, we don't care about that. We want fantasy points. I'm writing about him today because he is the only decent defenseman that is healthy for Ottawa right now from a fantasy perspective, so his upside is through the roof. The veteran is pointless in five games and has only five shots and seven blocks in his last four games, so think twice about rostering him in cash games. On that note, he could play 30 minutes today because he may have to and he could help you take down a large tournament if Ottawa scores a few goals.

it's Lindgren for the Habs tonight. It still is a great start for the Canadiens.
Thanks Dominic for pointing that out. I thought the Habs would ride price out until the my clinched the Atlantic division.
Lindgren played one NHL game last season and only allowed two goals, but has kinda struggled this season in the AHL. With that in mind though, Florida has pretty much shut it down this season and is ranked 23rd offensively. Lindgren is dirt cheap 7300 on FanDuel but Andersen maybe a better okay in DraftKings as lindgren is 7900 there
