Welcome to the daily updates and injury news article. We'll try and update it right up to line-up locks with as much information as comes across our desks. Let's get to it!
Last night's picks can be found here, so you can wrap your mind around what you need to be looking at before lineups lock tonight.
By the way - we keep our projection system updated with all of the changes as they occur throughout the day right up until lineup lock. Every day. If you want access to that system so you can cut out a lot of the research element, click the button below!
Gasol missed last game, which resulted in Zach Randolph going for 32 minutes and 39 fantasy points. JaMychal Green also saw 21 minutes, but he's questionable for tonight. The Grizz will have to play big and Randolph is one of my favorite options on the board. Mike Conley also sees a bump in both shots and usage. He will h ave the ball in his hands a ton against a fast-paced Pacers team.
This came out of nowhere, though injuries never really come out of nowhere with this guy. Dante Exum has shown flashes recently and I expect hm to pick up some minutes here. He is risky, though, so keep him to just tourneys. Gordon Hayward is also questionable, so the likes of Rodney Hood, Joe Johnson, and Joe Ingles may have a lot to make up for.
T.J. McConnell saw 35 minutes last night and will once again see 35 against the Hawks. The Hawks are one of the worst teams in the league against point guards and McConnell should be able to have another nice game. I will have exposure in both cash games and tournaments. Nik Stauskas will also see a few more minutes and is a guy who can get hot from the 3.
Bazemore has been out for a while and his return will shake things up. Tauren Prince will head back to the bench and lose a lot of the appeal he has just last night. Make sure to keep an eye whether Bazemore is on a minutes restriction or not.
Cousins has missed each of the last 2 games and Anthony Davis has taken advantage. If Cousins plays, I think he makes for an interesting tournament option. If he's out, Anthony Davis is a top play on the board. he will shoot 20+ times and be covered by some of the worst interior defenders in basketball.
With George Hill already ruled out, the Jazz may be extremely short-handed. If Hayward plays, I don't hate him in tournaments with Hill out. If Hayward is out, you have to look at a few guys. Joe Johnson and Joe Ingles will both see 30+ minutes and are cash game playable. Rodney hood will also see at least 30 minutes, but as we know is a far riskier bet.
The 6'ers have been rather frustrating with the centers as of late, so I will likely stay away no matter what. With Tiago Splitter returning and Shawn long signing a 2-year contract, I have no interest in playing any of these guys. Holmes is the only guy with merit if Okafor is out.
Redick is a huge part of this offense as he spreads the floor and causes defenses to account for a guy at all times. Redick is an interesting play if in, as he can stretch the floor against the Wizards team. Chris Paul and Austin Rivers benefit the most if Redick is out, as they will both have a few more shots and minutes. Jamal Crawford could also see a few more minutes off the bench in a great match-up pace-wise.
With Marc Gasol already out, this could get interesting. If Green is out, Randolph is a must-play in my book. Brandan Wright may also be forced to pick up significant minutes.
Randolph is in a splendid spot tonight, with Marc Gasol out and JaMychal Green questionable. Even if Green plays, you can lock Z-Bo in for 34 minutes against a big Pacers team. Randolph will be needed to match the beef of the Pacers interior and I think it results in a huge game. Myles Turner may be a big man, but he isn't the toughest. Randolph is one of the tougher guys in the league and I expect him to bruise up the interior all night long. While he is a 2-stat pony, he's very good at those two stats. He is an absolute double-double machine, even with Marc Gaol in. He is a huge presence when getting the ball and he will be fed with Gasol out. You can count on another solid performance from Z-Bo. If Green is out, you have to play Randolph.
Even if Gordon Hayward plays, Joe Ingles makes sense. George Hil is out and ngles will see 30 minutes either way. However, I like him A LOT more if Hayward is out. If Hayward is forced to miss, Ingles will see close to 35 minutes against a putrid Kings defense. While he isn't the most skilled offensive player, he does a great job socirng fantasy points in many different ways. Joe Johnson will also be an interesting look if Hayward is out.
