Welcome to the daily updates and injury news article. We'll try and update it right up to line-up locks with as much information as comes across our desks. Let's get to it!
Last night's picks can be found here, so you can wrap your mind around what you need to be looking at before lineups lock tonight.
By the way - we keep our projection system updated with all of the changes as they occur throughout the day right up until lineup lock. Every day. If you want access to that system so you can cut out a lot of the research element, click the button below!
Waiters missed last game and it resulted in Josh Richardson picking up the start and 33 minutes. Richardson is a good play once again tonight if Waiters is out. Wayne Ellington and Tyler Johnson will also pick up 5 or 6 minutes each. The Suns are a fast-paced team and a few of these Heat guys will hit value.
Iggy was due to rest for a game or two as he's been playing big minutes recently. Matt Barnes will likely see at least 28 minutes and I love him in cash games. The Warriors play extremely fast and Barnes will have no problem hitting value if he sees the minutes.
I do expect Giannis to play, though nothing official has been released today. Giannis is obviously a huge part of this offense and changes everything. If he plays, you can play him across the board. He has a fantastic match-up against the Blazers. If Giannis misses, Khris Middleton and Malcolm Brogdon becomes great plays. Middleton will shoot a ton and would be a lock in all of my lineups. Brogdon will see huge minutes either way and makes for a good option everywhere.
Lin left last game after playing just 7 minutes and it looks like he's back to missing games. Spencer Dinwiddie will draw the strat and becomes a very interesting option in all formats. Brook Lopez could also see a few more shots as Lin was shooting the 2nd most on the team before going down.
Jimmy Buckets has been playing well recently, finishing with 45 in each of the last 2 with Wade out. Butler is the only trusted guy on this offense and should be able to put up 45-50 fantasy points on a consistent basis. Butler and DeRozan will face off tonight in what figures to be a tremendous match-up. DeRozan is a pretty average defender and Butler should be able to take advantage. He has been more aggressive lately, shooting over 26 times in 5 of the last 7. Butler is a great cash game play and has plenty of upside to blow the doors off, especially in this match-up.
Ulis has played 39,40, and 43 minutes since Eric Bledsoe was ruled out for the season. His price has definitely increased, but rightfully so. He has shown his ability to produce when on the floor and I'm willing to expect these type of minutes. The Suns want to see what they have with Ulis and whether or not they should keep Bledsoe for the future. Ulis has a ton to prove and will be going for blood on a nightly basis, unlike a lot of these guys who are out of contention. The Heat are a slightly below average match-up for point guards, but it doesn't really matter when you're playing 40+ minutes. Dragic is a little slow and I could see Ulis getting around him.nUlis is one of the top plays on the day in all formats.
