What We Know

Brook Lopez has been ruled out against the Mavericks

Lopez is the focal point of this Nets offense, so his absence is a big deal. With Justin Hamilton being the only other center on the team, expect them to play down quite a bit. This match-up with the Mavs should allow them to do that with ease, as Dirk will be playing a lot of the 5 and he doesn't do much inside the paint. Trevor Booker is my favorite of the bunch and I could see him having an extremely solid game at a very cheap price across the industry. Justin Hamilton will also pick up a few minutes, but I have no interest outside of large-field GPP's.

Nerlens Noel has been ruled out with knee soreness

This is a bit of a bummer, as Noel is a guy I had a lot of interest in. With him out, Dirk Nowitzki and Harrison Barnes get the biggest bump. The Mavs will match the Nets and play small, which entails Dirk playing the 5 and Barnes the 4. Barnes is one of my favorite options on the slate and we'll get to him in a bit. I will only have exposure to Dirk in cash games as we just haven't seen enough upside at his price.

DeMarre Carroll is considered questionable against the Hawks

With Carroll out last game, P.J. Tucker saw 38 minutes and ut up 18 fantasy points. While Tucker isn't the most reliable fantasy producer, he is pretty safe if Carroll is out. You can project him for a safe 35 minutes and will be just fine against the Hawks. He makes sense in all formats, though I wouldn't hesitate to switch off if another value SF popped up.

What We're Waiting to Know

Nikola Jokic and Danilo Gallinari are questionable to play against the Celtics

Both of these guys are huge pieces for the Nuggets and will make a big impact on the slate. If both miss, Wilson Chandler becomes close to a must in cash. He will see almost 40 minutes and shoot over 20 times. Hernangomez and Barton should also see an uptick in both minutes and usage. If both play. Jokic and Chandler are both interesting tourney options. If just Jokic remains out, Hernangomez is a good tournament option and Chander remains a good cash option.

Nikola Vucevic is a GTD against the Hornets

Vuc has missed more time than anticipated with this Achilles injury and I doubt we see him return tonight. Bismack Biyombo will continue to see bug minutes and produce. He saw his first bad game with Vuc out last game and I was mostly due to foul trouble and his lack of rebounding. He should return to his normal self here against the Hornets and come through with a solid 25-35 fantasy points.

The "Every Lineup" Guys

Harrison Barnes

Not much needs to be said here. The top player on the team against the absolute worst defense in the league. Barnes has been very consistent all season long, typically sitting around 30 fantasy points. I expect around 40 tonight, which is more than enough in both cash games and tournaments at just $6k. Nerlens Noel is also out, so that will open up at least 30 minutes at the 4/5. Barnes is one of the safer options on the board for his price and you can play him everywhere. While he may end up being highly owned, it makes sense. This is likely the best match-up possible for Barnes, especially with the Nets trading away Bojan Bogdanovic.

Mason Plumlee

With Jokic still questionable and missing practice, I would expect him to sit at least 1 more game with the flu. If he does play, you can ignore this. With Jokic out, Plumlee has seen big minutes and produced. Jokic plays a huge role in this offense and Plumlee has done a good job of being a Jokic-lite over the last couple games. This match-up with the Celtics is one where he should be able to dominate, as they are one of the league’s worst against big men. If Jokic misses, Plumlee is extremely safe and has plenty of upside.
