Welcome to the daily updates and injury news article. We'll try and update it right up to line-up locks with as much information as comes across our desks. Let's get to it!
Last night's picks can be found here, so you can wrap your mind around what you need to be looking at before lineups lock tonight.
By the way - we keep our projection system updated with all of the changes as they occur throughout the day right up until lineup lock. Every day. If you want access to that system so you can cut out a lot of the research element, click the button below!
Cleveland is resting their studs tonight on the tail end of a back to back. The starters tonight against Miami will be Deron Williams, Iman Shumpert, Kyle Korver, James Jones, and Tristan Thompson.
I mentioned this in the picks article. Middleton is in a great spot against Toronto and apparently he will start the second game of a back to back for the first time this season. As long as he sees about 30 minutes, he's a great option at SF tonight.
The Hornets can't catch a break. They finally get Cody Zeller back from injury and Frank the Tank, who filled in beautifully for Zeller during his absence suffered an AC joint sprain. Zeller, who was coming in off the bench since his return will rejoin the starters. Christian Wood will be the primary back up at center.
Nelson missed the last game due to food poisoning but will suit up and start tonight against Charlotte. Nelson has struggled a bit lately to hit value, but has a nice match up with the Hornets, and could go under the radar in large tournaments.
MCW has missed three games and is a GTD tonight against the Clippers. The Bulls point guard situation is a complete mess so really, regardless if he plays or not it's best just to stay away.
Whitehead is questionable tonight with a sprained right shoulder, also Justin Hamilton is now upgraded to probable with an illness and Joe Harris has already been ruled out. This could open a lot of minutes in the Brooklyn back court, with KJ McDaniels seeing additional playing time and Sean Kilpatrick making a nice tournament option off the bench coming in at a bargain.
Lillard and the Trail Blazers host the Nets tonight which says all you really need to know. As of this writing with about 90 minutes to go before lineups lock, there are actually 4 players showing up in all of the top 10 optimal lineups and three of them play for Portland. I chose Lillard to feature here because he has been one of the most consistent DFS plays recently and should easily pay value. The blowout risk has me questioning the upside, but with the way Lillard has performed over his last 4 outings, he makes for a great cash play.
The one non-Blazer to show up in all of our top optimal lineups is Nicolas Batum. Batum has under performed lately, but that has brought the price down. Throw in a match up with the Nuggets, who are ranked dead even with the NEts as the worst defense in the league against shooting guards and you have a fine play in a high scoring congest with potential to pay 5-6x points per dollar.
