By the way - we keep our projection system updated with all of the changes as they occur throughout the day right up until lineup lock. Every day. If you want access to that system so you can cut out a lot of the research element, click the button below!

What We Know

Kyle Lowry will miss the rest of the regular season

While Lowry should be back in time for the playoffs, this is devastating news for the Raptors. Lowry is obviously an essential piece to this team and makes a huge impact on every aspect of the team. In terms of DFS, 2 people will benefit most; DeMar DeRozan and Cory Joseph. DeRozan has been absolutely phenomenal without Lowry and will continue to see an uptick in usage. Joseph will pick up around 30-35 minutes and is a lock in cash games.

Kristaps Porzingis has been ruled out against

Porzigis has been hurt all season, so nothing new here. With Joakim Noah out as well, that leaves Hernangomez and O'Quinn. Hernangomez is the preferred option and he can be played in all formats. His price has risen, but rightfully so. As for O'Quinn, he is a better option in tournaments. His minutes can be iffy and this is a team that can play small if they want.

Khris Middleton has been ruled out for rest purposes

Middle just returned from injury recently, so we certainly know what the lineup looks like when he is out. Malcolm Brogdon figures to see the biggest boost, as he will pick up about 10 more minutes and a few extra shots. Michael Beasley could also see a few more minutes off the bench in order to keep up with the Cavs scoring.

What We're Waiting to Know

LeBron James is questionable to play with strep throat

This is obviously humongous news. If LeBron plays, he and Irving are both good plays. If LeBron misses, Irving becomes an elite play, while guys like Richard Jefferson and Iman Shumpert become interesting as GPP punts. With that being said, Kyrie is really the only guy who gets a huge bump in my book.

The "Every Lineup" Guys

DeMar DeRozan

DeRozan is a guy who benefits a ton from the Lowry injury. Since Lowry has been out, DeRozan has gone crazy, scoring 53 and 45 fantasy points in 2 games. This match-up is just as good, if not better than the last 2. Courtney Lee is far too small and slow to stay with DeRozan, let alone the fact that DeRozan could put him in a pretzel down low. I could see Justin Holiday getting some time on DeRozan, as he does have a similar body type and play style. Still, DeRozan can bring much more to the table than Holiday. DeRozan is going to shoot 20 times and make enough of them to payoff value. DeRozan is easily my top option at SG and one of my top options on the slate.

Willie Cauley-Stein

WCS is going to be a big factor for the Kings, as he does have the potential to be a very good center on a nightly basis. While he has been extremely inconsistent over his entire career, I think we will start to see thing change as he consistently sees minutes. He has never been able to have a concrete role on a team, which could certainly be tough as a young player. While Towns is a stunning offensive player, he is nowhere near as good on defense. WCS has also added a little bit of a jumper to his game, which makes him way more versatile than in previous years. Cauley-Stein is a bit risky, but he should get you at least 20 and has the upside for a monstrous game.
