Welcome to the daily updates and injury news article. We'll try and update it right up to line-up locks with as much information as comes across our desks. Let's get to it!
Last night's picks can be found here, so you can wrap your mind around what you need to be looking at before lineups lock tonight.
By the way - we keep our projection system updated with all of the changes as they occur throughout the day right up until lineup lock. Every day. If you want access to that system so you can cut out a lot of the research element, click the button below!
Durant was my top money guy last night, but I did warn about his finger and it seems the Warriors are going on the side of caution tonight against a Brooklyn team they should beat handily. Look for Steph Curry and Klay Thompson to see a bump tonight with KD missing his first game of the year.
Moore is out for personal reasons and word hasn't come yet as to who will take his spot in the starting 5. Look for New Orleans to rely heavily on their big men regardless with the boogie and brow show.
MCW has been ruled out tonight against Phoenix, he started last night but only played 8 minutes, with Jerian Grant playing 13 and Rajon Rondo going 29 off the bench. Cameron Payne could get the start making his Chicago debut, but until we see how the Bulls plan on handling their minutes at the point moving forward there are way too many question marks to trust anything about this situation.
James looked amazing picking up a triple double against the Knicks on Thursday, but missed shoot around this morning with an illness. If he goes, he's in a great spot against the Bulls, if he sits, Kyrie Irving becomes much more desirable.
Beverley has been dealing with issues with his groin recently and seems to have aggravated it Thursday night. Eric Gordon should draw the start in his place, and this could mean a boost for James Harden and newly acquired Lou Williams.
Last night we wrote up Kevin Durant and LeBron James as the big money guys. Fast forward several hours and now KD is out and the king is looking unlikely. So, I present to you James Harden. Yeah, he only ran for 30 minutes on Thursday, and the addition of Lou Williams could lend itself to Harden getting a little more rest in situations like that when games get out of hand, but the beard is still making his case for MVP this season and I don't see him taking his foot off the accelerator any time soon. Tonight Houston plays host to the Wolves and while the blowout risk is there, Harden may be one of the smartest spots to spend up at. You could look the way of Anthony Davis, but there's a lot more value to be found at PF (see below) so paying up here at the two might be the safer way to go.
Dario Saric is jumping at the opportunity to run with the Philly starters following the exodus of Ersan Illyasova and Nerlens Noel. Last night he went 10-19 from the field, and picked up 11 rebounds to help him to his third straight double double despite going 0-4 from beyond. The Knicks are currently hurting in the front court with injuries to Noah and Zinger, and with Joel Embiid still sidelined with injury for Philly, now is the time for Saric to showcase those Euro ball skills.
