Welcome to the daily updates and injury news article. We'll try and update it right up to line-up locks with as much information as comes across our desks. Let's get to it!
Last night's picks can be found here, so you can wrap your mind around what you need to be looking at before lineups lock tonight.
By the way - we keep our projection system updated with all of the changes as they occur throughout the day right up until lineup lock. Every day. If you want access to that system so you can cut out a lot of the research element, click the button below!
Channing Frye time! Frye is a guy I love to target with LeBron on the court, as he relies a lot on his rim pressure. Richard Jefferson could also pick up a few minutes, but don't have much interest outside of large-field GPP's. LeBron and Kyrie will also pick up some usage and make for great plays in all formats.
All 2 of these guys have played generous minutes, but not to sure who really benefits. With Butler expected to be back, he is the main guy I will have exposure to. Outside of him, MCW, Rondo, and Valentine will all see healthy minutes. Valentine is my favorite GPP play, as he will go the least owned.
With all 3 of the other guys out, Butler is in a prime spot. He should be back to his full health and would expect him to play close to his regular minutes. MCW could lose a few minutes, but he isn't much of an efficient DFS player anyway. I am a fan of Butler in both cash games and tournaments.
Ross has been playing between 15-20 minutes as of late for the Raptors, and this will open up a few numbers for today. Norman Powell could easily see 25 and DeRozan could press 40 minutes. Ibaka won't make his debut tonight, so you won't have to worry about anyone losing minutes just yet.
Lawson has left the Kings in an uncomfortable spot with his injury, as Darren Collison has been the only true point guard on the roster. If Lawson misses again, Collison is almost a must. If Lawson plays, Collison is still a great cash game play, though his upside does get hindered.
On a 3 game slate, you have to give a long hard look at the guy who could outscore the field with ease. While LeBron could certainly be that guy tonight, I see a much better chance Cousins gets that crown. He takes on the Lakers tonight, which means he will see Timofey Mozgov, Ivica Zubac and Tarik Black on defense. There isn't a single defender who has a chance of slowing Cousins down, and he'll have his will in every way. Cousins is by far the safest option at center and should be a lock for 55. The ceiling for 70 is there as well and this is the perfect match-up for it to happen. Cousins will be locked into the majority of my cash games and tournaments.
With Ty lawson questionable, Collison could be the only point guard on the roster. He will once again see over 35 minutes, where he has shown insane upside. this match-up with the Lakers is terrific, as they are just as bad against centers as they are against guards. Collison has been playing exceptionally lately and I see no reason for a letdown here. Collison may not have the same upside as a higher priced PG, but the safety is very high. You can target him in all formats, though the ownership will likely be inflated.
