Daily Fantasy NBA News and Injury Updates for FanDuel and DraftKings - 2/12/17
Welcome to the daily updates and injury news article. We'll try and update it right up to line-up locks with as much information as comes across our desks. Let's get to it!
Last night's picks can be found here, so you can wrap your mind around what you need to be looking at before lineups lock tonight.
By the way - we keep our projection system updated with all of the changes as they occur throughout the day right up until lineup lock. Every day. If you want access to that system so you can cut out a lot of the research element, click the button below!
What We Know
Dwyane Wade, Jimmy Butler, Paul Zipser, and Nikola Mirotic are out for Chicago.
Wade fell hard on both of his wrists Friday but was expected to play today, however the Bulls have announced he will, sit along with Butler, Mirotic and Zipser. Michael Carter Williams and Doug McDermott will draw the start for Chicago.
Joakim Noah is out against the Spurs.
Noahs hamstring will keep him out of a fourth consecutive game. The Knicks went small last time out, but may not be able to against the Spurs front court, so Kyle O'Quinn and Guillermo Hernangomez who is starting could see more run in this one.
What We're Waiting to Know
Ty Lawson is questionable for the Kings tonight.
With Lawson and Garrett Temple out the Kings relied heavily on Darren Collison who saw 44 minutes on Friday, so they would love to get Lawson back on the court. Even if Lawson plays, Collison is a nice option, but if he sits again then Collison is a clear must play.
Terrence Jones is questionable, E'Twaun Moore is doubtful, Tyreke Evans is probably for the Pelicans.
Moore looks to miss a second game for personal reasons, while Evans is expected to return after missing 2 games with an ankle sprain. Jones, who also missed friday due to a thumb sprain is questionable. This again is the last game of the day so we may not know anything in time for the main slate. Dante Cunningham would lose the most value if these guys were all to go, though it seems unlikely that will be the case.
Patrick Patterson is a game time decision.
Patterson has missed three games already with soreness in his left knee. Pascal Siakam has been drawing the starts for Patterson, but Lucas Nogueira has seemed to benefit the most in his absence.
The "Every Lineup" Guys
DeMar DeRozan
From a raw points perspective, DeMar DeRozan is by far the top option of the day at shooting guard and it isn't even close. He also ranks high in points per dollar. The match up with Detroit isn't ideal but on a short slate such as this we can over look that with a player that presents the upside of a player like DeRozan. He played 38 minutes in both games since returning from an ankle injury against defenses similarly ranked to what he will see tonight and dropped 31 and 30 points in each so it would seem he is back to full strength. DeRozan is a top choice for cash games today, and I like the idea of stacking him with Kyle Lowry in tournaments.
Darren Collison
Darren Collison has stepped in to a bigger role over the past several games as the Kings have been contending with several injuries and a one game suspension for Boogie. The price is up about $500 from where it was 9 games ago and if he's going to continue to see minutes in the mid to upper thirties then its only going to climb higher and we are getting him at a discount right now. Garrett Temple is ruled out, and Ty Lawson is a game time decision. If Lawson plays, Collison ay take a sight hit but should still be a good play. If Lawson sits, lock Collison in everywhere.
