Welcome to the daily updates and injury news article. We'll try and update it right up to line-up locks with as much information as comes across our desks. Let's get to it!
Last night's picks can be found here, so you can wrap your mind around what you need to be looking at before lineups lock tonight.
By the way - we keep our projection system updated with all of the changes as they occur throughout the day right up until lineup lock. Every day. If you want access to that system so you can cut out a lot of the research element, click the button below!
Embiid's knee will keep him sidelined for another game as the Sixers host the Heat tonight. Ersan Ilyasova is probable and expected to play. Ilayasova along with Nerlens Noel, and Jahlil Okafor are all nice tournament plays, but since they all split Embiid's time evenly when he's off the court, none really present the safety we need for cash.
The Nuggets have ruled all three out well in advance of tonight's game. Jameer Nelson, Will Barton, and Wilson Chandler all stand to benefit and make for nice plays in tonight's contest against the Cavs.
Middleton will rest on the tail end of the back to back for the Bucks. This will probably be the case moving forward for Milwaukee as they work Middleton back in to regular rotation. Wait Jabari Parker out for the season this will put even more pressure on Giannis Antetokounmpo to carry the team on his back.
Young has been ruled out tonight against the Pistons with a sprained wrist. This could add to C.J. Miles draw as a tournament play, but as I said in the picks write up, I just don't trust Miles for cash purposes even with the added usage that would come from Young being out.
Jae Crowder is not with the team for personal matters. Marcus Smart should draw the start in his spot and makes an intriguing tournament play only due to the match up with the Jazz.
The duo did not travel with the team and will not play tonight against Houston. This could present plenty of value for plays such as Brandon Knight (See below) and Alex Len.
Gordon is out again tonight for the Magic. Mario Hezonja should draw the start but doesn't present much fantasy upside. Evan Fournier saw additional run on Thursday and is the only Magic guard worth considering.
Gordon was held out Thursday night and is a game time decision tonight with lower back soreness. If he is unable to play Sam Dekker and Corey Brewer look to split time at the two. Nene was made active Thursday against the Hornets, but did not play, however he was a full participant in practice on Friday and could be good to go tonight.
Waiters ankle kept him out of 2 games already and he is currently questionable tonight against the Sixers. Goran Dragic, James Johnson, and Rodney McGruder all benefit in additional run with Waiters sidelined.
Williams is questionable and will be a game time decision tonight against the Magic. Yogi Ferrell has started in 7 of 8 games that Williams has missed and has provided nice fantasy value at times. If Williams is able to go tonight, Ferrell becomes unplayable again.
Irving and the Cavs take on a Nuggets team tonight that is hurting. Kyrie has seen an average of 35 minutes over his last 5 games played and has scored at least 23 points in each of his last three outings. The Nuggets poor defense and fast pace of play should open the door for a big night at the one for Irving in one of the highest scoring games of the evening. The projection system loves Irving tonight and has him everywhere.
With Eric Bledsoe not making the trip to Houston for the Suns match up tonight with the Rockets, look for Brandon Knight to draw the start in his place. Knight has seen a reduced role coming off the bench but with starters minutes he comes in tonight at an absolute value. Even coming off the bench he has reached double digit scoring in 3 of his last 5 games, while also contributing his fair share in other categories. At near bargain basement prices Knight doesn't even have to do much more than that to make value so running with the starting five he should have no problem breaking through the celing tonight in a high scoring affair between two of the fastest playing teams in the league.
