Opponent - FLA
Proj Pts FD - 18.8 DK - 4.7
The Bruins are bigger favorites today but I like the matchup for the Predators just a bit more in the early slate. They open as -160 favorites vs. the visiting Florida Panthers who rank 26th in defense and sit under .500 on the road after losing each of their last four away from Florida. Rinne doesn't get the benefit of a high powered offense so the win-loss record can be suspect at times but he has won two of his last three while only allowing three total goals. He is safe in all formats.

From the most expensive goalie on the early slate to the most expensive on the main slate. King Henrik has bounced back in a big way in the second half winning four straight games while stopping 142 of 150 shots(.947 save %). He isn't confirmed at the time of writing this but is a near lock as he is just one win away from hitting the 400 win milestone and gets an elite matchup to do so vs. the Avalanche. The win would put him just one win behind Chris Osgood for 11th all-time and three behind Grant Fuhr for a spot inside the Top 10.
Also Consider: Marc-Andre Fleury/Matt Murray(PIT)

It's really hard to decipher what was wrong with Bergeron early in the season. In 49 games before the All-Star break, he recorded just 11 goals and 24 total points. The shot volume was there, at least(3.8 shots per game), and he was somewhat salvageable in cash games although the price didn't dip too far down. That has all changed now as Bergy is red hot. Since January 24th he has tallied points in six straight games including three multi-point efforts for the Bruins. He gets a great matchup today to extend the streak as the Canucks come to town with their 20th ranked defense and awful road record(7-16-3).

I will be pivoting down on the main slate and riding with Eichel as my top winger tonight. He gets a plus matchup vs. the Leafs 22nd ranked defense but the pick has more to do with Eichel and his abilities. He dealt with some injuries early on but is healthy now and producing for the Sabres. He has tallied nine points in the last 10 games including four multi-point efforts. Don't worry about the inconsistent scoring as he comes with a very high floor having recorded a whopping 39 shots in those last 10 games.
Stack with: Evader Kane, Marcus Foligno

Toews picked up right where he left off pre-ASB and has tallied points in three of five games and has seen a boost in shot volume. This is perfect for us DFS players as it adds some safety to his overall game as the offensive production is down, for the most part, this season. While I prefer Eichel on FanDuel in the same price range, Toews comes with a nice discount on DraftKings and is safe in all formats.
Stack with: Richard Panik, Nick Schmaltz

The fact that Hoffman has gone pointless in three straight games does not worry me at all today. Six times in the last 10 games he has recorded four or more shots on goal and averages three or more per game for the season. That makes him a terrific cash game candidate with a comfortable floor and as a bonus he comes with some offensive upside with 37 points in 47 games this season.
Stack with: Kyle Turris, Ryan Dzingel

The Rangers offense is going to be popular tonight as they face an Avalanche team who is dead last in offense, defense, and the overall standings. If you are looking to separate yourself, a little take a shot with the red hot Miller who skates on the team's third line. He has recorded multiple points in four straight games and has at least one point in eight of his last nine games. Surprisingly enough, only one of those points has come on the powerplay in which he skates with Kreider and Zuccarello. This tells me there is even more upside with Miller and tonight might be the night we see it.
PP Stack with: Chris Kreider, Mats Zuccarello

The price is slowly coming back up for the forgotten man in Pittsburgh but he still remains a big value. With Malkin out, the Pens have shuffled the deck a bit and have Kunitz skating on the top line with Sid the Kid. He hasn't disappointed with points in three straight and eight points over his last 10 games. He has also been providing some added safety as he has recorded 11 shots over the last three games. He makes it a lot easier to get the best player in the game into your lineups tonight.
Stack with: Sidney Crosby
Also Consider: William Nylander(TOR)
DEFENSEMEN

Sticking with the value approach on defense today and you guessed it. Ivan Provorov leads the way. This is much more than a homer pick for me as I even have a Habs fan(Ryan) writing about him frequently. His price continues to come in under $5K on both sites and even when he isn't providing offensive numbers, he is still crushing value in other areas. He has only recorded two points in his last 10 games but has outperformed his average fantasy points per game for the season with 23 blocks and 32 shots on goal. The Flyers offense will wake up eventually(crossing fingers) and that gives him even more upside.

On the main slate I turn to another fantasy productive Penguins D-man. He doesn't provide much of any upside for GPP's as he doesn't get powerplay minutes and skates on the third pairing but comes at near punt prices and is an elite shot blocker. Over his last 10 games, while skating over 20 minutes per game, he has recorded 32 blocks and 10 shots and has added three points. He is a perfect, low-cost cash game play or punt in a GPP to access some more expensive options.
