Welcome to the daily updates and injury news article. We'll try and update it right up to line-up locks with as much information as comes across our desks. Let's get to it!
Last night's picks can be found here, so you can wrap your mind around what you need to be looking at before lineups lock tonight.
By the way - we keep our projection system updated with all of the changes as they occur throughout the day right up until lineup lock. Every day. If you want access to that system so you can cut out a lot of the research element, click the button below!
Love tweaked his back last time out vs the Thunder, and he will sit out tonight. Channing Frye will step in and he immediately becomes someone with appeal. Richard Jefferson could also gra some minutes, but I have no interest. LeBron and Kyrie will both see an uptick in usage and minutes, and both of them are great plays in cash games and tournaments.
Johnson has been out for a while, and his return will turn me off a couple guys. Wayne Ellington and Mcgruder both lose all appeal, and Waiters could lose a few minutes as well. Dragic is still a fantastic way to go, but could see a few less shots and minutes.
D-Will missed last game, and both Yogi and Seth Curry took advantage. Both of those guys are good plays again and we will have exposure in all formats. Wes Matthews is the guy who will go overlooked, but he just lacks the upside you need in tourneys.
I do expect both of these guys to miss, and I sure hope they do. If both do miss, you have to like all of the starters on the Celtics. If both play, all starters lose a bit of interest. If just Bradley plays, Marcus Smart, Jaylen Brown and KCP all lose appeal.
Fournier is a true 50/50 shot right now, and I hope he misses. If Fournier plays, everyone loses a few minutes and shots. If Fournier misses, Ibaka and Payton will both see a big minute upgrade. C.J. Watson could also see some extra run, but he is a very meh player overall.
Randolph has been playing fantastic as of late, and it looks like we’re seeing a bit of a revival. The Grizzlies are a team I will be targeting a ton tonight, as they will be seeing a huge jump in pace, and have a lot of great individual match ups. Randolph will match up with the likes of Marquese Chriss and Alex Len, who are both way too weak. Z-Bo will bully both of those guys down low, and the double-double shouldn’t bee too much of a challenge, as long as he gets the minutes. He is a solid play in both formats, though he does lack a little bit of a ceiling.
Curry had a career high 10 rebounds last night, and while I am not at all expecting that again, I am expecting a nice night. The Cavs will throw Kyrie or Liggins at Curry, and he should be able to score on both. Wesley Matthews will likely play here, but Curry benefits more from the absence of Deron Williams. Yogi Ferrell will get the start at PG, but Curry will get the bulk of minutes and shots. I expect him to be low owned, and he has plenty of upside in this match up.
