Welcome to the daily updates and injury news article. We'll try and update it right up to line-up locks with as much information as comes across our desks. Let's get to it!
Last night's picks can be found here, so you can wrap your mind around what you need to be looking at before lineups lock tonight.
By the way - we keep our projection system updated with all of the changes as they occur throughout the day right up until lineup lock. Every day. If you want access to that system so you can cut out a lot of the research element, click the button below!
Gallinari amd Arthur are both set to play tonight against the Clippers. Arthur will have his minutes watched, returning from a 4 game absence with a knee injury, Gallinari should get his full run after his ankle kept him out for one game. Gallinari makes for an intriguing option against a hurting Clippers squad.
Anderson missed two of the previous three games due to an illness that will sideline him once again tonight. James Harden and Eric Gordon both see a usage bump over 3.6% when Anderson is out, and while the Memphis match up will keep me cautious using those guys in cash, they could be beneficial in a tournament lineup.
Embiid tweaked his knee last night against Portland, but would most likely have been rested on the second game of a back to back anyway. Jahlil Okafor should get the start with Nerlens Noel locked in to his role coming off the bench.
Love participated in Saturdays shoot around after missing Thursdays game with a sore lower back. If he misses tonight, look for Channing Frye to get the start at PF and Kyrie Irving, who sees a 7.3% usage bump without Love would become a strong PG play even against the Spurs tough defense.
Leuer has been upgraded to probable after missing 5 games with a bruised right knee. I would avoid Tobias Harris, even if he does get the start with Leuer coming off the bench, though if for some reason Leuer does miss another game, Harris makes for a good option at PF tonight.
Just something to watch in a later game, Mudiay has some soreness in his back and while it doesn't seem serious, he will likely be evaluated prior to game time.
The word I used last night when talking about Kemba Walker was consistency, and the safety that brings with it is clearly factoring in to our system as he is appearing everywhere. Over his last 5 games, he is averaging 37.36 fantasy points which is good for 4.7X at this salary. Throw in a prime match up against the fast paced Nets and their poor defense and you have to lock Walker in to your cash lineups.
Gordon Hayward hurt his hand in last nights win over the Mavericks. He finished the game, but for a guy who sat out the start of the season with a hand injury there's reason to be cautious. He seems to be good to go tonight, and that being the case he makes for a great play against the Pacers with their league average defense and top ten pace factor. Hayward's averaging 37.46 fantasy points over his last 5 outings games and has scored 20 or more points in four of those.
