Daily Fantasy NBA News and Injury Updates for FanDuel and DraftKings - 1/19/17

Welcome to the daily updates and injury news article. We'll try and update it right up to line-up locks with as much information as comes across our desks. Let's get to it!

Last night's picks can be found here, so you can wrap your mind around what you need to be looking at before lineups lock tonight.

By the way - we keep our projection system updated with all of the changes as they occur throughout the day right up until lineup lock. Every day. If you want access to that system so you can cut out a lot of the research element, click the button below!

What We Know

Wilson Chandler, Gary Harris & Darrell Arthur are all out vs the Spurs

The Nuggets are a bit of a mess tonight, and these 3 guys have all been confirmed out. With Gallinari questionable too, Will Barton could be in for huge minutes. We will talk about him later. Jameer Nelson could also see some minutes, and he is a decent punt option at point guard.

Chris Paul will miss 6-8 weeks

Paul is obviously a huge piece of the Clippers offense, and his leave let a few different guys get some minutes. Austin Rivers should benefit most, and I see him being a viable way to go on a nightly basis. J.J. Redick has his minutes solidified, and you can play him in cash games. Jamal Crawford and Raymond Felton are the 2 wild cards, and I like them in tournaments.

What We're Waiting to Know

Danilo Gallinari is questionable against the Spurs

If Gallinari plays, he could be in for a healthy amount of minutes and makes for a good GPP play. If Gallo misses, Will Barton is a terrific option. We will get there. Mike Miller could also see some extra minutes, but this is 2017. Say no to Mike Miller.

Kevin Love is questionable against the Suns

I expect Love to play tonight, but I hope he doesn't. Channing Frye will likely play big minutes, and he could have some revenge on hsi mind against his old team. LeBron does a good job getting him involved on the offense, and he would be a near lock if he got the start.

Joakim Noah & Kristaps Porzingis are expected to miss

It looks like both of these guys are going to miss the game, and I am glad. Kyle O'Quinn should step in and play big minutes, and he is a good way to look at center. Marcin Gortat also gets a bump, as O'Quinn is not a good defender. Both of these guys can be played in cash, though I do prefer O'Quinn.

The "Every Lineup" Guys

Eric Bledsoe

I talked about both of these guys in the main picks article, and they remain fully in play. Kyrie Irving is the weakest defender the Cavs have, and Bledsoe is the number 1 option. he is going to take a healthy sum of shots tonight, and the peripherals should be there. The Suns like to run, and the Cavs have made it clear that they don't mind matching a fast pace. Devin Booker is the guy who can take shots away from Bledsoe, but don't think he is in a great spot to do that tonight. Bledsoe will be a staple in my cash games, and likely my highest owned player on the slate.

Will Barton

Barton is a great play no matter what at this point, but could become a must play if Gallinari is out. He could legitimately be forced to play 42 minutes, and he has to hit value in that time. The match up isn't great, but there comes a point where opportunity supersedes the match up. The Spurs aren't a shutdown perimeter defense, either, and have been known to give up some big games. Barton provides you a cheap SG with the floor and ceiling of Beal.

  1. Who wants to help me out?

I was ready to play both Mindaugas Kuzminnskas and Kyle O’Quinn, until the news that Porzingis is playing just came out. I’ve now switched them for Raymond Felton and Mo Speights.

Should i play Felton/Speights or go back to the original lineup of Mindaugas/KOQ?

    Thanks

  2. I didn’t play tonight, but I would have said to stay away from the Knicks. I got screwed two games ago playing O’Quinn. He was money earlier in the season with Noah out and then for no apparent reason, he plays 10 minutes. Such a mess.
