Welcome to the daily updates and injury news article. We'll try and update it right up to line-up locks with as much information as comes across our desks. Let's get to it!
Last night's picks can be found here, so you can wrap your mind around what you need to be looking at before lineups lock tonight.
By the way - we keep our projection system updated with all of the changes as they occur throughout the day right up until lineup lock. Every day. If you want access to that system so you can cut out a lot of the research element, click the button below!
Chris Paul has been out for about a week and a half now, and it looks like he will return tonight. This draws most attention away from the guards, outside of Redick in tournaments. DeAndre Jordan gains some interest, as CP3 makes him much better.
Whiteside is really the only real presence the Heat have down low, and he leaves a big hole. James Johnson and Willie Reed will get the most run, and Johnson is my favorite. With Winslow already out for the year, Johnson has safe minutes no matter what.
Green plays almost 30 minutes per game for the Grizzlies, and his absence leaves us some opportunity. Zach Randolph is the obvious guy, and I do like him. James Ennis will also get a bump, and I like him a lot. He can run with the Warriors, and is a great FP per minute play.
I am going to avoid the Warriors tonight, but this could open something up. If Thompson misses, Curry and Durant should pick up some extra shots. Both would turn into solid tournament options for me.
Rodriguez started the day probable, so this tag is surprising. He has been out for a while, and now that a downgrade occured, I would expect him to miss this one. T.J. McConnell will step right back in and be a great play.
If he misses this one, LeBron James would basically be uncovered. They have no other big guys who are athletic enough to stay with him. Bogan Bogdanovic may also pick up some minutes, but I have no interest outside of tournaments.
LeBron, Kyrie and Love have all been marked as probable, so I would expect them all to play. They take on the Nets, who play no defense, and play the fastest in the NBA. LeBron will surely take advantage of that, and with no Rondae-Hollis Jefferson, could have a huge game. James has been playing well of late, and this match up sets up perfectly for him. James has also played really well in Brooklyn, where he has averaged 28/11/8. The Nets have never been able to stop him, and that won’t change tonight. Make sure he is playing, but I expect him to.
Greg Monroe has finally been getting the minutes, and he has produced, like always. This is the second game in a row against the Knicks, and he played extremely well last time out. With over 30 minutes and 30 fantasy points in 3 straight, I would say he is pretty safe. Against the Knicks, he will be needed for size purposes and will once again have his way. His price is fair, and won’t force you to pay down anywhere.
