Daily Fantasy Football News and Notes FanDuel and DraftKings – Week 15 12/18/16

In this article, we'll be breaking down the top news around the league and provide you with an analysis of what we expect to happen. We will also provide you with an "every lineup guy" section, just like we did for baseball. As always, these picks are informed by our lineup optimizer, the NFL spread for each contest, year to date NFL stats, and so on. So let's welcome football back into our lives, and let's get this show on the show on the road!

NFL News and Notes

• Adrian Peterson will return to action this week, but is off my radar. He's expected to have a limited workload.
• Kelvin Benjamin is listed as questionable, but is "on track" to play on Sunday.
• Julio Jones will not play this week.
• Melvin Gordon will not play this week, which means, Kenneth Farrow will draw the start.
• John Brown has been battling an illness all week, but is expected to be "fine" for Sunday's contest.
• Theo Riddick is doubtful to play on Sunday, as he's battling a wrist injury. Dwayne Washington is expected to get the bulk of the carries.
• Jermaine Gresham was limited in practice on Thursday and Friday and will be a GTD.
• A.J. Green will go through warmups on Sunday to determine his status, which means that he is a game-time decision.
• C.J. Fiedorowicz has been ruled out for Week 15 against the Jaguars.
• Dez Bryant was added to the injury report on Thursday, but is still expected to play. This isn't a guarantee, so make sure to keep a close eye on his status.
• Randall Cobb is battling an ankle injury, but is expected to play this week.
• Dwayne Allen practiced in full on Friday, so expect him to be out there on Sunday.
• James Starks is considered doubtful for Sunday.
• Jordan Matthews has been a full participant at practice and will play on Sunday.
• Eddie Royal will not play this week.
• Torrey Smith has been ruled out for Week 15, as he suffered a concussion in last weeks contest.
• Jordan Reed is listed as questionable, but is expected to play on Sunday.
• Donte Moncrief has been ruled out for Week 15 against the Vikings.
• Mohamed Sanu is no longer on the injury report, so he'll suit up on Sunday.
• Allen Hurns has been ruled out for Sunday's contest.
• Darren Sproles has been ruled out for Sunday's contest.

"Chalk Plays"

David Johnson (ARI) vs. NO
Le'Veon Bell (PIT) vs. CIN

The question around the industry this week: should I pay up for David Johnson, Le'Veon Bell, or both? This is a question that I can't give you a definitive answer to, but I can tell you that both of these guys are in amazing spots and will see a big workload, as usual. So, it's up to you to decide what you do, but you will see that these two gentlemen will be highly owned in all formats. They have extremely high ceilings and floors, which is why they are excellent plays every week; and of course, this week is no different.
