Daily Fantasy NBA News and Injury Updates for FanDuel and DraftKings - 12/12/16

Welcome to the daily updates and injury news article. We'll try and update it right up to line-up locks with as much information as comes across our desks. Let's get to it!

Last night's picks can be found here, so you can wrap your mind around what you need to be looking at before lineups lock tonight.

By the way - we keep our projection system updated with all of the changes as they occur throughout the day right up until lineup lock. Every day. If you want access to that system so you can cut out a lot of the research element, click the button below!

What We Know

Jeremy Lin expects to play against the Rockets, but will be on a minutes restriction

Lin has been out for quite a while now, and I expect him to be eased in very slowly. Though there has been no official word on how many minutes he will play, I expect it to be around 15 minutes to start. Isaiah Whitehead will likely lose the most minutes, and I still like Kilpatrick as the lead guard on this team.

Dion Waiters and Justise Winslow will remain out against the Wizards

Waiters and Winslow have also been out for a while, and will remain so tonight. Dragic and Whiteside will continue to do the heavy lifting, and the role players will continue to play 30 minutes and put up decent numbers. The Wizards are a fast paced team and give up plenty of peripherals.

What We're Waiting to Know

Blake Griffin is questionable to play, but expected to play

Griffin is probably going to play here, as it looked like last game was just rest. If he does miss this game for some reason, Speights and Brandon Bass will pick up some minutes. Speights had a good game last time out and would make for an interesting tournament option.

Wilson Chandler is officially questionable against the Mavericks

Chandler has been a big part of the offense as of late, so his absence would leave some opportunity. If he does miss the game, Gallinari would have his minutes secured and Will Barton will pick up a few as well. With that being said, the Mavericks play slow and it isn't a great match up for Gallinari with Barnes at the 3.

James Johnson and Luke Babbitt are questionable against the Wizards

Johnson and Babbitt just stack on the already horrible injuries that the Heat have been going through. If both play, everyone outside of Dragic, Johnson and Whiteside would lose interest. If both are out, I think all the role players would pick up a few minutes. In the scenario that one of them plays and one is out, I think you can just look past all of the role guys to the stars.

The "Every Lineup" Guys

DeMarcus Cousins

The Lakers are horrible and there is no chance they have anyone to stop him. Both Timofey Mozgov and Tarik Black are horrible defenders, and will likely be in a lot of foul trouble early and often. Cousins has been a bully as of late, with 50 fantasy points in 7 of his last 8. He will surely make it 8 of 9 here and I wouldn’t be surprised to see one of his big games. As the only real option on this offense, Cousins will get plenty of shots and is almost a lock for a huge game. He is a must play for me on both cash games and tournaments. If you love a different center, you can slide Cousins over to PF and play both.

Harrison Barnes

Small forward is a spot I like to pay down at tonight, as I don’t think there is anyone that needs to be paid up for. The Mavericks are facing off with the Nuggets, who give up a ton of peripherals and play at a very fast pace. Harrison Barnes is the main option on the Mavs offense, and will likely shoot around 18-22 times tonight. He will also get a few extra rebounds and assists tonight from his league average. On DraftDay, Barnes is probably my favorite player with price considered. He is a tremendous option in both cash games and tournaments. Denver has ranked 26th in the league against SF’s, giving up 41 fantasy points per game.
