Welcome to the daily updates and injury news article. We'll try and update it right up to line-up locks with as much information as comes across our desks. Let's get to it!
Last night's picks can be found here, so you can wrap your mind around what you need to be looking at before lineups lock tonight.
By the way - we keep our projection system updated with all of the changes as they occur throughout the day right up until lineup lock. Every day. If you want access to that system so you can cut out a lot of the research element, click the button below!
Word is Hayward will play tonight. While I wrote last night that this would impact Joe Johnsons desirability, word of Rodney Hood sitting out means theres still hope for JJ. We will have to wait and see what lineup the Jazz run out there. With Hood, George Hill and Derrick Favors all sitting out, Hayward generally sees a 4.7% increase in his usage, so if you're confident in that finger then he definitely looks like a nice play.
Mudiay is fully expected to suit up for tonights game against the magic. This will send Jameer Nelson back to the bench and restrict him to a strictly tournament play. Mudiay himself has been wildly inconsistent lately and until we see how coach Malone plans on distributing time on the Nuggets backcourt, I'm staying away.
We're still waiting on the official word here, but coach Gentry has already come out and said the Holiday will most likely miss another game due to his toe injury. Once word becomes official this will make Tim Frazier an excellent play.
It's being reported that Griffin has a sore right knee, which while not thought to be serious, does have his status tonight up in the air. With this being the last game of the night, we may not know for sure one way or the other in time for line up lock which puts one of tonights better plays in to serious question.
Bismack Biyombo, Nikola Vucevic, and Jeff green are all questionable for tonights game against Denver. Depending on how this all shakes out there are numerous fantasy implications here. Should all three miss tonight then that leaves the Nuggets extremely short handed with a ton of minutes up for grabs. Fortunately this one is early enough we should have a clear idea of how it's going to play out.
Walker only played 25 minutes last night in the Hornets thrashing of Orlando, so he should be plenty well rested tonight when they travel into Cleveland to take on the world champs. This matchup looks to be reasonably closer in one of the higher scoring matchups of the evening. While the Cavs are as good as it gets offensively, they tend to get lazy at times on the defensive end and that gives just about any team the chance to keep it competitive all the way through. This should provide Walker the chance he needs to put up the thirty plus points he was averaging for the 16 games leading up to last night. The floor for Walker is high, and the closer this one stays the higher the ceiling will climb.
It's still early on, but Kawhi is showing up in all of the top FD line ups put out by our system and I expect he should remain there once lineups lock. The Spurs are hosting the dreadful Nets and Leonard should easily have his way with their league worst defense against opposing small forwards. This one could get out of hand but not before Kawhi, whos averaging nearly 25 points and 6 rebounds a game so far in December should have plenty of opportunity to meet value in a high scoring fast paced matchup.
