TGIF! It's been a busy week in the NHL and it continues on Friday with another six games on the schedule. There is just one big favorite(MIN -166) leaving us with some risky cash game plays but a ton of tournament options between the pipes. Four teams(STL, NJ, EDM, NYR) will be playing on back to back nights and all four are playing a third game in four nights so beware the fatigue factor. Let's take a look at some of the top plays for the night.

Oh man, the goaltender position is tough tonight but I believe that Dubnyk stands out above the rest and I'll explain why. First of all, Edmonton has a good offense as their ranked 7th in the league with 2.93 goals scored per game, and they're tied for 4th with 31.9 shots per game. They just got done playing the Flyers as they lost by a score of 6-5 last night. Yes, they can score goals. Ok now here is the good news and why I believe that Dubnyk makes for a great play tonight. This is Edmonton's 3rd road game in 4 nights, and they are just going to want to go home already. More good news? Okay. Dubnyk just faced the Oilers 2 games ago as he stopped 28 of 29 shots on route to a 2-1 victory. The stud goalie has faced an average of 33.75 shots in his last 4 games and his record is 2-0-2. Wow, that is pretty impressive. I love Dubnyk in all formats today.

I just thought of this as I sat down to write this "awesome" article in this very early morning today. I actually use an equation, well I'm calling it that and please don't hurt my feelings. I kind of feel special right now. Ice time = Opportunity. Ha that's a good one ain't it? An equal sign makes it an equation in my opinion. Okay so anyways, the more ice time a player logs per game equals more opportunities to score fantasy points for his/her owner. I'm saying this because I don't always like the matchup that a certain player is presented with, but sometimes you just can't ignore that player and statistics do not lie. A perfect example of this situation is Mr. Zetterberg, the Swedish sensation who found a time machine, maybe in a hot tub, who knows, and he is playing like he is a young man trying to prove himself again. Goalie Bob is good and Columbus hasn't stunk it up quite yet this season, but Mr. Zetterberg is about as safe as it comes for your cash game lineups. In his last 2 games he has 2 goals, 2 assists, 9 shots on goal and 3 blocked shots. On the season he has 6 goals, 14 assists, and 56 shots on goal and logs 19 minutes of ice time per game. Boring you may say? Maybe yes but when you're building your cash game lineups today let's call him Mr. Safety and start by locking Zetterberg into your lineups.

This is another day to go cheaper here and spend up elsewhere, and I recommended Saku's little bro on Wednesday, and he easily payed off his salaries on both sites halfway through the game. I'm a Habs fan and was obviously a huge Sake Koivu fan, so this may be a bit of a man crush, but you have to at least consider Mikko again today at these cheap prices. I don't mind Eric Staal either, and I want at least a small part of the Wild today as the Oilers will be exhausted, and they will just want to go home already. But I watched some of the Leafs vs Wild game on Wednesday, and I thought Koivu's line just played better than Staal's. In his last 2 games Mikko has 2 goals and an assist in his last 3 games, and while he only had 3 shots on goal during that span, he blocked 4 shots to add value. Koivu is safe at these prices, and stacked with these line-mates may just be what you need to take down a large tourney today.

Hey Little Joe welcome back to this article again. I recommended him on Wednesday and he goes ahead and gets an assist and fires a whopping 7 shots on goal. Like I said before, he is a pretty good hockey player obviously and there aren't many players out there who offers safer floors than him as he plays on the Sharks' top line and #1 pp unit. He also has high upside because of his exceptional talent as well. Pavelski has 23 point in 24 games, and in his last 3 games, he has a goal, 2 assists, and 16 shots on goal. Tonight he faces off against Anaheim who he's seen twice already this year and has a goal and 2 assists with one of his goals via the power-play. Enough said. Play Pavelski with confidence today in all formats.

Wow is this former Oiler ever on fire. It looks like he's proving a point to the them that's they shouldn't have traded him Last night he scored a goal and added an assist against Sir Carey and the Habs and he managed not to get blockered in the face. Palmeiri wasn't so lucky. In his last 3 games Hall has 3 goals and 4 assists and while we think that St. Louis is one of the top defensive teams, when we look deeper they actually aren't as they are 18th in the league with 2.74 goals allowed. They lost 3-2 to the Islanders in Brooklyn last night and their backup tender Carter Hutton will be playing today. Actually taking a closer look at today's slate I'm thinking that Hall might just be my favourite play all around and he is a must play in my opinion in all formats.

From a value standpoint, Ristolainen is the guy on a smaller slate tonight. He comes with a very affordable mid $5K price tag and is trending heavily in a positive direction. He has recorded eight of his 16 points in the last 10 games and has provided a very high floor with 33 shots on goal and 24 blocks. As I mentioned earlier, ice time = opportunity and Ristolainen has ben playing heavy minutes for the Sabres and starting to turn the corner for the young, up and coming team in Buffalo. He is safe in all formats.
