Welcome to the daily updates and injury news article. We'll try and update it right up to line-up locks with as much information as comes across our desks. Let's get to it!
Last night's picks can be found here, so you can wrap your mind around what you need to be looking at before lineups lock tonight.
By the way - we keep our projection system updated with all of the changes as they occur throughout the day right up until lineup lock. Every day. If you want access to that system so you can cut out a lot of the research element, click the button below!
With Thomas out, we can look to Marcus Smart and Avery Bradley to handle the ball for most of the time. Both are interesting plays here against the Magic and can be considered everywhere. Aside from those 2 guys, Crowder may also pick u a few minutes and a bit of usage.
Bazemore is a guy who plays big minutes, so there is definitely a hole to fill here. Thabo Sefolosha will benefit most, and Tim Hardaway Jr. should also pick up some minutes. Both are decent plays in tournaments, but I doubt I have much exposure. The Heat are slow and play good defense.
He left last game against the Heat with back spasms and didn't return. The Knicks face off with the Cavs tonight, and if Rose doesn't play, I think most of the benefit goes to Porzingis and Melo. Both are high usage guys and will shoot a lot more of needed. If Rose misses, Brandon Jennings will also pick up minutes and becomes a good play.
Who else is going to create for these guys? Tyler Johnson and Dragic will get all of the minutes at point guard, and both make great plays. The Hawks are a pretty good defensive team, but when you add the minutes and usage that Dragic will get it doesn't matter. He saw 40 minutes last night and put up 43 fantasy points. I would expect something very similar tonight against the Hawks.
This is Barnes team, and he has no problem embracing that title. he is shooting the ball a ton, and he has the ball in his hands as much as a superstar. Without any other shot makers or creators on the team, he is forced to be a guy who forces shots and creates at the rim. He takes on Kings team that doesn't play too much defense. I suspect Rudy Gay will cover Barnes, and that is a good thing for Barnes. Gay is a lazy defender and I don't see him getting up for the 2016 Mavericks.
