The Jazz are facing off with the Lakers, and if Hill misses, you have to think someone would have a big game. Gordon Hayward and Rodney Hood would likely gain a lot of usage, and I like Hayward a lot across the board. Shelvin Mack may also get a good amount of minutes, and should be fine at such a low price.
Rondo has been suspended for "contact detrimental to the team". Whatever that means, he is going to miss a game. Jerian Grant and Isaiah Canaan will likely step in, but I won't have much interest in either unless it is made clear that one will play more. Aside from those guys, Jimmy Butler and Dwyane Wade will pick up more usage as well. The Blazers don't play great defense, so both guys interest me across the board.
Covington is a guy that usually plays around 25 minutes, so there is someone to look at here. Nik Stauskas picked up 33 minutes last game, ad will remain a good play at the SG position. The Nuggets play fast, so Stauskas has a good chance to get some open shots here. Dario Saric may also pick up a few more minutes, but I don't have any interest as he just doesn't do enough on the court.
Aminu has been out a while, and Harkless has done a fantastic job at the SF position. It will be interesting to see how they acclimate Aminu back, because they surely can't just stop playing Harkless. I expect Ed Davis to lose the most minutes, and for the Blazers to play small a lot with Mo Harkless and Aminu on the court. Chicago has been lackluster on defense, so these guys can be considered tonight.
Millsap is a huge part of the Hawks offense, and his absence causes a huge chain reaction. Either Muscala or Sefolosha will start, depending on what Budenholzer wants to do. The Thunder are worse against the PF position, so I hope Muscala is starting. He would be an interesting guy to target in tournaments. If Millsap plays, I think Schroder loses a ton of usage.
Ariza plays a bunch of minutes for the Rockets, and the Celtics aren't great on defense. That creates a great space for someone to step in at a low price and have a nice game. Sam Dekker has been playing some solid minutes, and I could see him manning around 35 tonight. He would make a great play everywhere if he is named as the starter. Corey Brewer may also start, but I doubt he sees more than 22 minutes.
Adams is the glue of the Thunder offense, and makes a huge impact. If he misses, Enes Kanter is going to be close to a must play. He is extremely efficient when on the court and averages more than 1 fantasy point per minutes. Howard is a decent defender, but the Hawks have been league average against the center position.
Okafor has been playing a good amount of minutes recently, but even if he misses, Embiid won't get more than 28. The real benefit will go to Ersan Ilyasova. He may pick up around 30 minutes tonight, and always shoots when on the court. He would be a decent cash game play, but I don't think he has enough upside to win you a tournament.
Wall and the Wizards are taking on the Nets tonight, and that means Wall is going to have a big game. The Wizards have been the 2nd fastest team in the league this year, and we all know Wall plays well in fast paced games. He will be guarded by Isaiah Whitehead and Sean Kilpatrick, who both lack any defensive prowess. Wall will have his way to the rim and should be in for a huge game. He is a viable play in all formats, and will likely go way under owned with Westbrook on the slate.
Embiid should be 100% owned. You play him. He is still too cheap, and has plenty of upside at this point. His minutes cap is sitting at 28, and he averages way more than a single fantasy point per minutes. The Nuggets are notoriously horrible against the center position, and Embiid should be able to absolutely dominate.
