Welcome to the daily updates and injury news article. We'll try and update it right up to line-up locks with as much information as comes across our desks. Let's get to it!
Last night's picks can be found here, so you can wrap your mind around what you need to be looking at before lineups lock tonight.
By the way - we keep our projection system updated with all of the changes as they occur throughout the day right up until lineup lock. Every day. If you want access to that system so you can cut out a lot of the research element, click the button below!
Nick Young will miss another 2 weeks, and we all know who will benefit. With Russell out as well, Clarkson and Williams are going to be the main beneficiaries. Against the Raptors, they are both decent plays, but I don't love them. In tournaments, Williams is my favorite as he has shown the big upside in the past.
Lee and Noah don't do much on the court, but they take up a lot of minutes. If Lee misses, you can look to Justin Holiday and Mindaugas Kuzminskas to pick up a bunch of minutes. If Noah misses the game, Guillermo Hernangomez and Kristaps Porzingis will be the main beneficiaries. You can play all 4 of those guys, as they are either very cheap or have huge ceilings.
Gallinari is a big deal to this offense, so his absence does open opportunity. If he misses, Wilson Chandler would become an elite play. He is the go to guy on offense and should be in for a big night if he gets the minutes.
Millsap missed last game, and Mike Muscala picked up 29 minutes. He is a decent play here against the Pistons. The Pistons are a bad team against the interior, and Muscala should be able to pick up a decent amount of fantasy points. Kris Humphries also picked up 15 minutes, but he is not worth a look tonight.
Jokic has been playing consistent minutes, so his absence would give us something to look at. If he misses, I think it secures the minutes for Jusuf Nurkic and ups the minutes for Juancho hernangomez. Both are decent plays, but I will only have exposure in tournaments.
Morris hasn't ben great this year, but he has played a lot of minutes. I expect him to play tonight, but if he doesn't, Kelly Oubre and Otto Porter would gain the most. Oubre is very cheap around the industry and I like him a ton in tournaments. The Spurs are scary, but have not been as dominant on defense this year.
This would of been Harden, but he played in a 2OT game and ended up playing 46 minutes. You have to think D'Antoni will limit his minutes a little, but I still love him in tournaments. In cash and tournaments, LeBron is my favorite of the bunch. He played 34 minutes last night, and should be in for some big minutes tonight. Jimmy Butler is a tremendous defender, but LeBron is obviously great and it doesn't matter who is covering him. This one should be close and James should have a big night.
Embiid has his minutes limit raised from 24 to 28 minutes, and that is a huge deal. That may not seem like a lot, but when a guy averages more than a pointer per minute, those 4 minute are a big deal. The Orlando Magic are very bad against the center, and Embiid should be able to dominate. He is a safe play in cash games, and has the upside for tournaments.
