Welcome to the daily updates and injury news article. We'll try and update it right up to line-up locks with as much information as comes across our desks. Let's get to it!
Last night's picks can be found here, so you can wrap your mind around what you need to be looking at before lineups lock tonight.
By the way - we keep our projection system updated with all of the changes as they occur throughout the day right up until lineup lock. Every day. If you want access to that system so you can cut out a lot of the research element, click the button below!
George will miss at least 1 more game, so there are some spots to look. Jeff Teague, Glenn Robinson and Thaddeus Young are my favorite, and are all good plays in both cash games and tournaments. Monta Ellis and Myles Turner can both be considered too, but I would restrict them to tournaments. George is such a big part of this offense, so make sure you get a piece of this pie.
Waiters has been playing big minutes, so this opens up a lot of looks. Josh Richardson, Rodney McGruder and Tyler Johnson (if he plays) will all pick up minutes, and with the added Winslow absence, they are a lock for 30 minutes. Dragic is also a good play, but his price doesn't do too much for me in this match up with Mudiay.
With D'Angelo Russell already out for the next week or so, Lou Williams and Jordan Clarkson are going to be forced into huge minutes. Jose Calderon and Brandon Ingram may also pick up a few minutes. Calderon is the only one I have no interest in, but I will have a whole bunch of the other guys. Williams is my favorite, but Clarkson is not far behind.
Millsap is a very good power forward. At the beginning of the day, he was one of my favorites on the slate. With this news, he is off my table. If Millsap is out, Mike Muscala would likely step in and get around 30-35 minutes. Against Phoenix, he is definitely worth a look. The rest of the starters may also gain some usage, so they can be considered in a fast paced game against the Suns.
Wade has played big minutes this year, so his absence would cause some big opportunity. Jerian grant played very well when Rondo was out, so he would probably step in and play big minutes here against the Lakers. This match up sets up extremely well for the Bulls, and I am a big fan of them in both cash games and tournaments.
Keep an eye on this one, as Gallinari could easily sit once again. If he does return, it would give a bump down to Wilson Chandler. He has been great, but will likely lose minutes in this poor match up with the Heat. This game sets up to be very low scoring game for the Nuggets, and I will likely avoid altogether.
Butler is a guy you just lock in tonight. He is taking on the Lakers, has been tremendous recently, and his price is still a bit too low. When you add Dwyan Wade being questionable, I find it hard to not throw butler in my lineup tonight. The Lakers have ranked 26th against SF, and I expect that number to drop with all the starters being stretched out due to injuries. Butler has no problem playing 35 minutes, and will crush value if this one stays close.
With Paul George off the court for a few games this year, Teague took over and became the man. He will have another chance to do so tonight against the Blazers and the lackluster defender that is Damian Lillard. I expect Teague to play big minutes, and shoot a ton when he is on the court. In cash games, he is my top pt per % guard of the day. He is at the top of the board in tournaments as well.
