Daily Fantasy Hockey Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings 11/26/16

Welcome back for another night of daily fantasy hockey. Saturday night is the peak of hockey existence throughout the season and tonight is no different with nine games on the slate. With Thanksgiving just a few days ago the schedule is condensed the last couple of days meaning a ton of teams playing back to back. As always be sure to check the projections prior to lineup lock for all the confirmed starting goalies.

Hockey is back and with it come our NHL projections which help inform these picks every night. When you purchase a DFSR NHL subscription to our base hockey projections you also get access to our brand new NFL DFS suite of tools including full projections, optimal NFL lineups and our Player Lab, which includes filters to help you create NFL lineups for FanDuel and DraftKings for any format. It’s a set of tools well beyond anything we’ve ever had, and something we feel will help our users *ahem* tackle the NFL season.

GOALIES

Craig Anderson FD - $8700 DK - $8100
Opponent - CAR
Proj Pts FD - 17.12 DK - 4.28

After winning three of his last four starts Anderson has seen his salary exceed $8K on DraftKings while it remains under the $9K threshold on FanDuel.  Despite not getting much offense in front of him(Sens rank 28th) Anderson has kept the Sens in games with an above average .929 save % and has recorded a 10-4-1 record. He will get a shot to add to those totals tonight as the Sens are home favorites vs. the Hurricanes who have struggled on the road(3-4-4). The Canes aren't bad offensively but they aren't great either ranking 19th, scoring 2.5 goals per game. Anderson is safe in all formats as he is facing 30+ shots per game on average.

Calvin Pickard FD - $8200 DK - $7700
Opponent - VAN
Proj Pts FD - 18.04 DK - 4.51

The Avalanche have also already confirmed their starting goalie for Saturday night. They will be putting in the backup Calvin Pickard for his sixth start of the season. Outside of one dud performance against the unlikely Coyotes, Pickard has been extremely impressive with a 4-1 record and .931 save % on the season. He gets an excellent matchup tonight as the Avs are 1-80 home favorites to the visiting Canucks who rank second to last in offense(2.1 goals per game) and have one of the worst road records(2-7-1) in the league. Fire up Pickard in all formats at a very affordable price on both sites.

Also Consider: Matt Murray or Marc-Andre Fleury(PIT)

CENTERS

Sidney Crosby FD - $9200 DK - $8600
Opponent - NJ
Proj Pts FD - 14.58 DK - 4.77

The Penguins took their licks last night in Minnesota and Crosby was held off the scoresheet. The Pens are back at home tonight with both them and the Devils playing on back to back nights. After missing the start of the season with a concussion Crosby is on the exact same pace(1.27 points per game) as league leader Connor McDavid. He is also leading the league with 14 goals, eight of which were scored in the last 10 games. He has also provided a very high floor averaging just under four shots on goal per game and as always plays a ton of time on the top powerplay unit. For tournaments you have a choice of stacking him with his linemates(Carl Hagelin, Conor Sheary) for a cheap option or the top powerplay unit which comes with the most upside but at a price. I prefer the powerplay myself.

PP Stack With: Evgeni Malkin, Phil Kessel, Kris Letang

Nicklas Backstrom FD - $6900 DK - $6900
Opponent - TOR
Proj Pts FD - 12.06 DK - 4.06

If you are making just a single lineup tonight and not into paying top dollar for Crosby take the discount with Backstrom in a terrific spot. The floor isn't quite as high but you get what you pay for I guess. He has been red hot lately with 10 points over his previous 10 games including four points with the man advantage. He has been mostly playing on the second line but gets the powerplay boost as the setup man for Alex Ovechkin. Sorry Leafs fans but all Caps offensive players get a boost tonight against the 27th ranked defense that is allowing 3.3 goals per game.

PP Stack with: Evgeny Kuznetsov, Justin Williams, Alex Ovechkin

Charlie Coyle FD - $5100 DK - $5200
Opponent - STL
Proj Pts FD - 9.34 DK - 2.81

It comes as no surprise that the Wild lead the league in defense through a quarter of the season allowing under two goals per game. Dubnyk has been great between the pipes and the defense has limited quality scoring chances. The surprising part, at least to me, is that the Wild are also a top offense on the season, ranking 11th with 2.8 goals per game. Coyle has been a big contributor to that offense with seven goals and seven assists including points in three of his last four games. He has also provided a very nice floor for the price with three or more shots on goal in eight of his last 10 games. He is safe in all formats.

Stack with: Zach Parise, Eric Staal

WINGERS

Joe Pavelski FD - $7800 DK - $7300
Opponent - ANA
Proj Pts FD - 14.64 DK - 4.68

The Sharks offense has been average at best this season but seems to be trending in the right direction after three straight wins. Pavelski has been a big reason and the main bright spot on the offensive side this season with 19 points in 21 games. In a win over the Islanders last night he extended his point streak to five games. In those games he also provided a whopping 26 shots on goal. The matchup is a bit tougher tonight against the Ducks but he tallied a two point game in their last meeting. His price is leveling off on FanDuel but still has a ton of room for value on DraftKings tonight.

Stack with: Joe Thornton, Patrick Marleau

Alexander Radulov FD - $6300 DK - $6400
Opponent - DET
Proj Pts FD - 10.09 DK - 3.12

He has impressed in his first season back from the KHL. He has fit right into the Habs lineup and has already recorded 17 points through his first 19 games with the club. He has mostly been a play maker with 13 assists and just four goals but has always been a goal scorer in his career so expect those numbers to come around soon enough.  Until his shot totals start to climb he can only be considered in tournaments.

Stack with: Alex Galchenyuk, Paul Byron

DEFENSEMEN

Erik Karlsson FD - $7400 DK - $7400
Opponent - CAR
Proj Pts FD - 15.29 DK - 4.85

His fantasy production has been extremely consistent lately despite the lack of offense we are used to seeing from Karlsson. The Senators as a unit are struggling so there is no surprise individual players are as well. He does have seven points over his last 10 games but where he has provided his best value is in the shot blocking department as he has recorded 36 in those 10 games with 23 shots on goal. As long as he is providing a safe floor it makes sense to keep rostering him as we all know how high the ceiling is.

Jared Spurgeon FD - $4700 DK - $4500
Opponent - STL
Proj Pts FD - 9.34 DK - 2.97

Spurgeon comes with limited offensive upside with just five points through his first 16 games but makes an excellent low to mid tier cash game play. He has been very consistent the secondary stats lately as he has recorded 28 shots on goal and 29 blocked shots over his last 10 games. If you are doing a full team stack of the Wild tonight he could be considered as he does play on the top powerplay unit with Ryan Suter.

Also Consider: Marc-Edouard Vlasic
