Goalie Bob has been on fire this year as he's been victorious in his last 4 starts, as well as 8 of his last 9. The Russian net-minder has a save % of .931 to go along with 3 shutouts so far this season and tonight him and his team face off against the Calgary Flames. The Flames were actually doing pretty well for a few games and then crashed back down to Earth after losing 4-2 to Buffalo last time out. They were an average team with Johnny Gaudreau in the lineup, and now they lack serious firepower. They're Power-play is worst in the league with an ugly 8.1% success rate. The Blue Jackets are a much improved team this year, and Vegas currently has them listed as -175 favourites this evening. Bobrovsky is a terrific play in all formats today.

It will be very hard for me to get away from Bobrovsky tonight, but if you would like to get away from the masses and try and take down a large tournament, then here is your man today. The Wild are the best in league in goals allowed with 1.94 per game but they give up 31.1 shots per game which is 11th worst in the league. Winnipeg has been bad lately but they can explode and score a pile of goals on any given night. Vegas doesn't think so as they have the Wild listed as -172 favourites tonight and I think he makes a pretty good tourney play.

Connor McJesus is living up to his potential as the next legitimate superstar. He had a few quiet games for his standards but woke up in a giant way in his last 2 games as he scored 3 goals with 2 assists and 6 shots on goal. He is simply a man amongst boys out there. Tonight the Oilers play the Avalanche and even though their core stats look half decent, they are not a very good squad. They are 24th in killing off penalties (79.2%) and 12th worst in the NHL in shots allowed per game (31.0). The Oilers score just under 3 goals per game which is 8th best in the league and I believe that I will not be fading McJesus tonight. I don't think you should either. Lock and load everywhere.

Wow everyone, is this dude ever on fire. He's always been a good hockey player but he's been playing like a man possessed lately. In his last 3 games he has 4 goals, 2 assists, and a whopping 19 shots on goal. On the season Carter has 9 goals, 8 assists, and 67 shots on goal. Tonight the Kings face the Islanders who are playing in back to back road games, and they are not a good defensive team 3.06 goals per game which is 24th in the league, and 31.9 shots per game which is 26th in the league. This could actually be my favourite play in all formats today. Lock and load him also.

Little Joe is one of the best hockey players in the league, and a very underrated one at that. The Blackhawks have been a mess lately and they've allowed 8 goals in their last 2 games , and I look for Pavelski and company to take advantage of that tonight. Chicago is worst in the league in killing penalties (68.3%), and 2nd worst in power play goals allowed with 20. Pavelski has 15 shots on goal, 4 blocked shots and a goal and an assist in his last two games, and he plays on San Jose's top line and # power play. He's up there with Carter as my top play this evening.

The Blue Jackets play the Calgary Flames today who recently lost 4-2 to to the Buffalo Sabres and are without their best player Johnny Gaudreau for a long period of time. Yes I know that they won a few games in a row, but even a blind squirrel finds a nut now and then. The Flames aren't a good hockey team and please dont t try to convince me that they are. Stats don't lie. They are 5th worst in the league with 3.24 goals allowed per game , 2nd worst with 3.29 shots allowed per game, and they have given give up a league worst 21 power play goals this season. Ouch that's not good. I believe that we need to get exposure to the Blue Jackets today and for me it starts with Atkinson who plays on the second line which has been red hot and the #1 power play unit.

If you are looking at mid range values today there is no one better than Vrbata. He is providing a very high floor lately with 26 shots over his last five games played and despite playing on a offensively challenged team he has already picked up 12 points. He will once again be facing his old team and while he didn't record a point last time out vs. the Canucks he did record nine shots on goal.

To really find the value at the position tonight we must dig down into the mid tier. While Werenski is starting to see his price climb there is still room for growth. He has been outstanding for the Blue Jackets who have been a bit of a surprise ranking 2nd in overall offense. His floor comes from his 44 shots on goal this season and he also has big upside averaging close to a point per game through a quarter of the season.

Proj Pts FD - 6.81 DK - 2.06
Going even cheaper tonight we find Severson in the bottom tier who will get a boost in value tonight facing the Leafs 26th ranked defense. His price stays low due to him playing on an offensively challenged Devils team but he has come through nicely with 12 points through 18 games. The floor is a bit lower than most as he doesn't have high volume in blocks or shots but the upside is there as he plays heavy minutes on the top pairing and top powerplay unit.
