Welcome to the daily updates and injury news article. We'll try and update it right up to line-up locks with as much information as comes across our desks. Let's get to it!
Last night's picks can be found here, so you can wrap your mind around what you need to be looking at before lineups lock tonight.
By the way - we keep our projection system updated with all of the changes as they occur throughout the day right up until lineup lock. Every day. If you want access to that system so you can cut out a lot of the research element, click the button below!
I will update as news comes out throughout the day
Favors could possibly be out for a while, and we will see a few people benefit. THe biggest of whom will be Try Lyles. He should start to see around 30 minutes per game and makes for an excellent play at his current price. Aside from Lyles, Hayward and Gobert may also benefit in terms of usage and rebounding opportunity.
Winslow, like Dragic who is questionable, is a huge part of this Heat offense. With him missing, we saw Jomes Johnson pick up 28 minutes and Josh RIchardson picked up 38. We did have Dragic out as well that game, so there was an extra 30 minutes up for grabs.
Hill has missed the last 5 games, so you can look at the box scores to see who will benefit most. If he comes back, I would lose all interest for Shelvin Mack or Dante Exum, though there wasn't much to begin with.
Rondo missed last game, and a few guys took advantage. First of all, Jerian Grant exploded. Whether or not Rondo plays, Grant is going to get minutes. I expect Hoiberg to work him into the rotation as he is a young piece with a lot of upside. Jimmy Butler and Dwayne Wade also picked up some minutes, so they would benefit if he misses another one tonight.
Dragic is a huge part of the Heat offense, and numerous players benefit if he misses. Tyler Johnson and Josh Richardson are my favorite, followed by Hassan Whiteside and Dion Waiters. Whatever you preconceived Dion Waiters can be thrown out the window. He is playing for the team in Miami and actually looks really good on the court.
It was between Lillard and Harden in this spot, but I went Lillard because of Harden and the B2B situation. Lillard should be fine to go with minutes, and there upsides are very similar. In cash games, I think I will lean on Lillard, though I might be able to fit both if some more value comes out. The Rockets have been bottom 10 against the PG spot for 2 years in a row now, so it is definitely real. Lillard is a phenomenal play in both cash games and tournaments.
If you are looking to pay down in 1 spot, this is probably the one. First of all, power forward is atrocious. We have a guy in Lyles who is going to see 30 minutes against a horrible Bulls interior. He is almost minimum priced and helps you open the door to spend up at other spots. In your cash games, this is almost a must play for me.
