Welcome to the daily updates and injury news article. We'll try and update it right up to line-up locks with as much information as comes across our desks. Let's get to it!
Last night's picks can be found here, so you can wrap your mind around what you need to be looking at before lineups lock tonight.
By the way - we keep our projection system updated with all of the changes as they occur throughout the day right up until lineup lock. Every day. If you want access to that system so you can cut out a lot of the research element, click the button below!
Horford will miss his 4th game due to a concussion, and there are a few guys that have taken advantage. Tyler Zeller and Amir Johnson have been the main beneficiaries, and both make decent lays tonight against a fast paced Wizards team. I think Isaiah Thomas gets a bump here as well, as Horford opens up a ton of usage. Thomas has took advantage and is on his way to a great season. I look for that to continue here against John Wall in a high scoring game.
This game has a great chance of getting ugly. The Warriors are playing well and the Mavericks can barely find enough bodies to fill the bench. With both of these guys out last night, we saw Barea, Curry and Barnes have big nights. Curry is the guy I will be avoiding, as he generally doesn't get few minutes and I don't expect him to get ran to the ground on a back to back. Barea and Barnes on the other hand, will play around 35 minutes and are fantastic lays for your cash games and tournaments.
It has been a pleasant surprise to watch Joel Embiid play this year, and I hope moves like this let thatg happen for a long time. The 76ers have handled both Okafor and Embiid with baby gloves, as they should be while they are an atrocious franchise. With Embiid being rested tonight, you can predict Okafor to play exactly 24 minutes. No more, no less.
Will George Hill play?
George Hill missed last game with a sprained finger, which left us some empty minutes between Shelvin Mack and Dante Exum. If Hill is out again, I would avoid both as there are plenty of other options on this slate. Hood, Hayward and Favors may all pick up a few more shots, which can sometimes make the difference.
Jonas Valunciunas is questionable
I really hope Valunciunas sits this one out. We have Patrick Patterson in a fast paced game with a guaranteed 35 minutes. If Val does miss this game,Patterson immediately becomes one of my favorite plays. Aside from him though, I think DD and Lowry both benefit in terms of usage.
Aminu left the game last night and did not return. He is questionable tonight and if he misses, a bunch of guys will get a small upgrade. Evan Turner will likely get the biggest bump, and I theoretically like him if Aminu misses. Crabbe and Harkless will also pick up a few more minutes, and both are in interesting spots.
Leonard is a guy that has been heralded as one of the best forwards in basketball, though he never really put up those crazy numbers. He was a defensive phenom who was a pretty good offensive player. That has all changed this year. While he is still the same defensive phenom, he has turned a corner with his offensive game. The Rockets have a bottom 5 defensive efficiency, and that is no surprise with Harden and Anderson on the court. While Ariza is a good defender, he is no match for Leonard and he is not scoring dependent. Expect a big game here and I would do whatever you can to get him in your cash games and tournaments.
While he did play big minutes last night, the Mavericks really have no option. They only have a certain amount of players and they have to play someone at the PG position for 48 minutes. Barea will man at least 32 of those, and I actually expect him to go past that. Curry is not a good defender, and we all know that Barea is going to get it done when given the opportunity. In your cash games, he is almost a must play.

Who do you like better tonight? Otto Porter or Bazemore? I am leaning towards Bazemore based on the advice however given but like Porter as well
