Welcome to the daily updates and injury news article. We'll try and update it right up to line-up locks with as much information as comes across our desks. Let's get to it!
Last night's picks can be found here, so you can wrap your mind around what you need to be looking at before lineups lock tonight.
By the way - we keep our projection system updated with all of the changes as they occur throughout the day right up until lineup lock. Every day. If you want access to that system so you can cut out a lot of the research element, click the button below!
I will update throughout the day as news comes out.
- George Hill is out. Shelvin Mack, Rodney Hood and Dante Exum all become interesting.
Lance Stephenson pulled his groin against the Suns, and the doctors concluded that surgery would be needed. In result, the Pelicans have waived Stephenson and they will look elsewhere for bench production. Stephenson was getting around 28 minutes per game, so there is definitely somewhere to look here. Langston Galloway, E'Twaun Moore, Solomon Hill and Buddy Hield will all get big minutes, with Tim Frazier playing a ton of minutes at the 1. Galloway and Moore are my favorites, as they have looked the best when on the court, and have proved there worth in the past.
Nikola Vucevic is a huge part of the Magic offense, and if he does miss the game, Bismack Biyombo is going to be a fantastic play. The Chicago Bulls are not a fantastic rebounding team, so Biyombo will likely grab at least 10 boards. Last season, Biyombo had a monster Febrary with the Raptors where he averaged a double double. We know he will produce, so capitalize if Vucevic is out.
Marvin Williams is not a huge part of the Hornets offense, but does man a ton of minutes. He has played over 30 minutes in every game this year, which opens up a huge opportunity for someone. Frank Kaminsky will be the main beneficiary, with Zeller and MKG securing 30 minutes. I love all 3 of those guys tonight, as the Pacers have played extremely fast this year and all of these guys are great at racking up peripherals.
Honestly, there are no "must plays" today. There are a ton of different ways to go and that makes it a very fun tournament day. That being said, in cash games, you have to take a long hard look at Russell Westbrook. Westbrook has only been a few peripherals away from having triple doubles multiples times this year. While the Heat are a decent match up, Westbrook has proven time in and time out that he will produce when on the court. Look for him to do mor eof the same tonight against a Heat team that he is much faster than.
Like I said, there are really no must plays tonight. That being said, I think Bradley Beal is a fantastic play in both cash games and tournaments. He is taking on the Rockets, who sport James Harden and his lack of defense. I expect Corey brewer to guard John Wall, and for Harden to slide over and cover Gordon. I expect him to make seperation and find his way into open lanes and open 3 point shots. Beal is very low priced, so he will not have to do much to reach value.
