Welcome to the daily updates and injury news article. We'll try and update it right up to line-up locks with as much information as comes across our desks. Let's get to it!
Last night's picks can be found here, so you can wrap your mind around what you need to be looking at before lineups lock tonight.
By the way - we keep our projection system updated with all of the changes as they occur throughout the day right up until lineup lock. Every day. If you want access to that system so you can cut out a lot of the research element, click the button below!
Jrue Holiday and Gordon Hayward both entered this season out of commission, and will continue to do so tonight. For the Pelicans, we saw Tim Frazier get 37 minutes and rack up 40 fantasy points. While that is certainly hard to expect, he has shown that upside on a consistent basis in the past. With Hayward being out for the Jazz, Joe Johnson stepped in and played the bulk of his minutes. It also secures Rodney Hood as a 35 minute per game guy until he is back. Keep an eye out on both of these guys statuses, as they will make a huge impact upon return.
While these guys don't have as big of an impact as Hayward and Holiday, they still play a role and their absence is opportunity for someone else. We saw Joe Harris rack up over 25 minutes, which will only happen of Foye is out. As for the Jazz, it secures Hood even more and gives a small bump to someone like Joe Ingles.
Wow. Anthony Davis is by far one of the more interesting figures in sports today. He is insanely injury prone and can't stay on the court, but is one of the most dominant players in sports when on the court. He took the game by the neck on opening night and absolutely dominated with 50 points, 16 rebounds, 4 blocks, 7 steals and 5 assists. That will probably get everyone back on his bandwagon, and he is a great pplay tonight. While Draymond Green is a good defender, he lacks length and the Warriors as a whole give up a ton of points. Davis is my favorite big man of the night and I will do whatever I can to make sure hes in my lineup.
Westbrook almost got a triple double last game out, and believe it or not, I think he will score more FP per game than he did on opening night. He is getting an insane amount of usage this year and there is no way I see him having a game under 40 FP, unless an injury of course. The Phoenix Suns had the 4th fastest pace in the league last year and that plays right into Westbrook's game. I expect something close to a triple double and I will not be satisfied with less than 55 fantasy points, as his price definitely requires it.
