This isn't the easiest night for goalies, but it didn't take long for me to realize that this is your main man on this 6 game slate. We love picking on any team that is playing their 3rd game in 4 nights, and playing back to back especially when they're on the road. Sorry Columbus, but you're still not very good. Don't take it personal, it just is what it is. The good ol' Blue Jackets are 24th in the league so far with only 2.6 goals scored per game. It took a short while for the Ducks of Anaheim to wake up, but it looks like the bell has finally rang, as they put a beating on the Nashville Predators on Wednesday for a final score of 6-1. Gibson stopped 28 of 29 shots for a save % of 9.66 which is very good. It took a rocket scientist like myself to figure that one out. I imagine that the Ducks will be a major favorite tonight. He will very likely be highly owned so you can look elsewhere for your tourney lineups, but when it comes to cash games, it would not be wise to fade him.

I will warn you right now. This pick is not for the faint of heart, and because everyone and their ancestors will be on Gibson tonight, we need to dig a little deeper to find a play to get away from the crowd. Enter the Flames tender who actually looked really bad at the start of the year, but he was playing for a new team. Like staying between the net and stopping pucks is different from team to team, but I guess they need to get accustomed to all of these lovely new systems they are implementing nowadays. Ottawa is currently tied for 9th in the NHL in goals scored with 3.33 per game, and they are 3rd in the league with 33 shots fired on goal per game which will scare most people away. Elliot has recorded 54 saves in 57 shots in his last 2 games, and he was victorious in both contests. What makes it even more appealing is that those games were against St Louis and Chicago. I love this play today, and he could help you take down a massive tourney.

Oh my does the system ever love "McJesus" today like most days, but in this 6 game slate, he looks fantastic. The matchup doesn't look very good today as the Canucks are 4th best in the league in goals against with 2.29, and he isn't cheap by any means, but the center position is actually pretty thin tonight. He's hard enough to fade on most nights, but tonight with value surrounding us everywhere else, he becomes a must play in cash games as well as a few tournament lineups. McDavid always has a high floor as he plays on the #1 PP unit and it seems like they double and triple shift him at times. He assisted on a Zach Kassian goal earlier in the year to help me prove that point. He had a couple of off nights and then came back with 2 assists on Holtby and the Caps in his last game, so he is pretty much already matchup proof. Enough said. Let's move on shall we?

This guy plays with Patrick Kane and the most recent calder trophy winner Artemi Panarin and he's priced this low? C'mon Man!!! Well we will just have to take advantage of the situation while his price is still way too low for his production so far this season. At least that is the case on FanDuel. Over at DraftKings he is a little pricier but definitely still in play. He already has 4 goals and 5 assists in 7 games, and while the matchup against New Jersey isn't ideal, even if the Hawks only score a goal or two, the odds are pretty good that Anisimov will be involved in the scoring somehow. Combined with value and opportunity and the line he plays on, he is a great play for me in all formats today.

Auston Matthews are you listening? The calder trophy race will be closer than you think this year. This guy may very well steal it away from you. The young Finnish skater has been a favorite of the system all year so far. He just got done scoring 2 goals tonight vs the Dallas stars, and is still so ridiculously cheap while playing on the top line and top power play units for the Jets. The #2 overall pick in the draft already has 6 goals and 2 assists, to go along with 23 shots on goal. That is very good and at this point it doesn't matter who his opponent is, and the fact that Winnipeg is traveling to Colorado as we speak. His price is way too good to ignore right now and you simply need to lock him into your lineups in every single format tonight.

"Johnny Hockey" and his team are in a great spot tonight as the Senators give up 3.33 goals per game which is 9th worst in the NHL right now. Gaudreau already has 26 shots on goal and he scored a goal and added an assist against a tough St Louis team in Calgary's most recent game. Ottawa has a good offense, but their defense is simply not very good, and this guy makes a great play in all formats tonight.

This guy is starting to become relevant for the Rangers as he had 2 assists in his last game, and 10 shots on goal in his last 2 games. Carolina is 3rd worst in the league in goals allowed per game with 4.00 so far this season. Miller plays on the second line for the Rangers and has currently been seeing a lot of time on the 1st power play unit with his linemates, which at his low price, makes him a tremendous value today and I don't think he is a guy I want to fade in any format.

Let's pick on the Senators a bit more today. As I stated above, their defense is not very good, and we need to take advantage of that. Giordano logs a ton of ice time per game, and he plays on the top power play unit. He is almost always on the ice when Johnny Hockey and Monahan are which is great news especially from a DFS perspective. He currently has a goal and 4 assists to go along with 22 blocked shots and 20 shots on goal. His value isn't the greatest but from a total points perspective, the system thinks he's a decent play.

I just wanted to get a little piece of the Ducks offense today because Columbus isn't very good, but even though Anaheim scored 6 goals their last time out, you just never know which line is going to contribute, and who is going to play where. This is where we target a D man and try to use a guy who logs a lot of ice time each and every game, and is fairly cheap around the industry. Fowler fits the bill and he plays on the #1 power play unit for Anaheim and had 2 assists vs the Predators, and is on the ice for an average of around 24 minutes per game. The Blue Jackets are playing on back to back nights and their stud goalie Sergei Bobrovsky played last night, so he will most likely ride the pine here. You should seriously consider Fowler to fill out your roster this evening.
