Welcome to the daily updates and injury news article. We'll try and update it right up to line-up locks with as much information as comes across our desks. Let's get to it!
Last night's picks can be found here, so you can wrap your mind around what you need to be looking at before lineups lock tonight.
By the way - we keep our projection system updated with all of the changes as they occur throughout the day right up until lineup lock. Every day. If you want access to that system so you can cut out a lot of the research element, click the button below!
Jrue Holiday and his wife have been going through some things, so he will be out indefinitely. Tim Frazier will step in at point guard and man the position until he is back. As we have witnessed, Frazier is a good backup and can produce when given the opportunity. The Denver Nuggets are a weak defense and he should be able to make some things happen on the offensive side of the ball. Anthony Davis will also get a bump, as Frazier will take less usage than Holiday would. Looking forward to the future, look who handles the ball on this offense and take advantage of possible match-ups.
Marcus Smart hurt his ankle during the preseason and is looking to come back in early November. For the time being, Terry Rozier will step in and take the bulk of his minutes. Rozier has not been too productive on the court just yet, so I would wait to see some production before I jump on the bandwagon. Against the Nets, the game will be slowed down and I don't expect Rozier to have a big game.
Okafor is going to start on a 12 minute limit, and Joel Embiid will be on a 20 minute limit. Because of that, Dario Saric and Richaun Holmes will be in play. Both of them will get around 25 minutes, and they are minimum priced. The Thunder are a very fast paced team, and there will be tons of rebounds up for grab with Westbrook throwing up tons of shots. I do prefer Saric, as he will be playing a stretch 5 against guys like Steven Adams and Enes Kanter.
You have to get Westbrook out there tonight. Westbrook is going to be on most of my teams every night, even at this price. Without Durant, Westbrook has averaged almost a triple double in the past. The Philadelphia 76ers are absolutely horrible, and there is nobody on that team who can stop Westbrook. AT ALL. If you read our picks article, Doug focused on Westbrook and just how good of a play he is. If you want to pay up somewhere else, I would do my best to get Westbrook in there as well.
The only guy I like even close to the same amount as Westbrook is Harden. He is similar to Westbrook in the way he dominates the ball, but is going to be a bit lower owned. The Rockets are projected to score the most point on this slate at 115 and I expect Harden to be a big reason why. With shooting guard being a little rough,it is a good idea to Harden in your lineup.
