I love targeting teams that are on the back end of back to back games, and the Canucks will be reeling after a shutout loss to the Kings last night. Yes I know that Vancouver was undefeated until last night and they have a point in all 5 games they've played, but the season is young and we will definately see some regression, probably as early as tonight in Anaheim. The Canucks are tied for 5th worst in the NHL in goals for with 2.40, and in Gibson's last start he was victorious while giving up only 2 goals in Philly. The Ducks are currently -195 favourites tonight so start Gibson with confidence today.

You will need to check on who is starting in goal today for the Rangers, but the King played last night in Washington, and he's not a young man anymore, so it's highly likely that Raanta gets the nod tonight vs a weak Coyotes team. Like I mentioned earlier, this will be Arizona's 4th game in 6 nights which is a ton of hockey in a short time period. Yes the Rangers travelled to the nation's capital last night, but it's a short trip and they should take care of business today rather easily. There is currently no odds for the game tonight, but my prediction is that the boys in blue will be a near 2 to 1 favourite. Raanta won the only game he's started this year in a 7-4 victory vs the Sharks. Don't worry about the goals as Arizona is not San Jose. They are not a good hockey team. You have a decision to make today at the goalie position, but it's a fun one, as Raanta and Gibson both make fantastic plays in every single format.

This is weird to say when I'm talking about Hockey, but keep an eye on the weather forecast for today. An outdoor game in October? Seriously Mr.Bettman sir? I know it is Canada, and we all live in igloos, ha ok maybe not all of us do, but it's not that cold up here quite yet. The forecast in Winnipeg for tomorrow afternoon is 9 Celsius which is warm for an outdoor sport here, and it is raining at the moment, but I'm sure they have it under control. We can't worry about the weather though because this is such a juicy matchup for both teams. The Oilers have allowed 3.2 goals per game so far and the next guy I will mention has a lot of media attention right now, but Scheifele is going to want to prove a point here. He's not too shabby of a hockey player. Through 4 games he has 3 goals and 3 assists, and 12 shots on goal, and he plays on the #1 line and #1 PP unit. The system loves him today and he makes a great play for your cash and tourney lineups.

And then there's Connor, the guy who everyone in the hockey world calls "McJesus." The system also loves him and with good reason. He's very hard to fade in a full slate of games, so with this 4 game slate he is a must play. The Jets have been awful on Defence so far this year as they allow 4.00 goals per game. That won't fare well vs the Oilers and their overwhelming top line. Connor already has 4 goals, 4 assists and 15 shots on goal through 5 games, and you are very smart if you lock him into your lineups in all formats today.

I usually don't like targeting players when they play back to back like this, especially when they played on the road the night before, but on small slates it is what it is. The Rangers are coming off of a huge 4-2 victory last night vs. Washington, and while he was held off the scoresheet, I just cannot picture it happening 2 nights in a row. He has 3 goals and 4 assists with 20 shots on goal already through only 4 games and he plays on the #1 line and #1 PP. This will be Arizona's 4th game in 6 nights and they give up a league worst 4.50 goals per game. Kreider is a great play in all formats today.

Since we need to pay up at center today, finding value at the wing position is a necessity and Coyle jumped out at me right away. The system thinks he's a middle of the line play, and I agree. He does play on the top line and top power play units with Staal and Parise though, and the Islanders are right at the league average in goals against with 2.80. He could work as a value play in cash games but I like him more as a tourney play today stacked with his line-mates.

Here we have yet another value play at the wing position, and we should not ignore Bailey today because of the fact that he plays on the top line and top power play unit with Laad and Tavares. He's simply too cheap for me to ignore, and while the Wild are 8th best in the league in goals against with 2.60, they aren't as good on the road as they are at home. I like him in all formats today.

Until Russell's price goes up, you will see him a lot in this column because he does a bit of everything for the Oilers, with the biggest one being blocked shots. He has 19 already this year to go along with 3 assists and 8 shots on goal, which makes him a great play in your cash game lineups today.

This is simply a play based on the crazy amount of ice time this guy sees on a nightly basis. And with ice time comes a variety of stats which add up to fantasy points, which adds up to smiles on our faces when we play him. He was on the ice for 29 and 28 minutes in his last 2 games, and he plays on the top power-play and top penalty kill units for the Wild. Play him with confidence today.

Hi everyone, for those who didn't play the 2 pm slate because of the uncertainty of the outdoor game which is still dicey, the main slate is actually 6 pm et, and I like getzlaf and or Perry , for Anaheim to compensate for no McDavid and Scheifele and on d fowler is a decent play to make up for no Russell
Ah darn why would New York do that lol. Lundqvist is starting in goal tonight vs the coyotes. Great play if u have the salary room but I still like Gibson slightly better . Arizona can score a bit more than Canucks can
