Welcome to our new daily article breaking down some of the other pitching targets on this slate. We covered our system's top value plays in our daily picks article but here we will look at other dudes to consider.
In case you didn’t notice, on Saturday we released our brand new NFL DFS suite of tools including full projections, optimal NFL lineups and Player Lab which includes filters to help you create NFL lineups for FanDuel and DraftKings. It’s a robust set of tools; well beyond anything we’ve ever had and something we feel will help our users *ahem* tackle the NFL season.
A quick heads up - we post an updates article every day in the early afternoon, EST, to catch everyone up on how things are changing as a result of whatever news has come through. We also have great talks in the comments of that article. Hope to see you there!
Pitching Targets
Note: We discussed Jon Lester and Michael Wacha in the Main Article and will be going over a few more options below.
Pitching Targets
Opponent - SF (Suarez) Park - @SF
FD - 33.72 DK - 22.44
Happy Kershaw Day everyone!
I mean do I really have to explain this pick? You already know the drill, right? You don't! Ugh, I guess I'll go ahead and give you a little recap about Kershaw.
Kershaw has been one of the most, if not the most dominant pitcher in baseball over the last few seasons. He's an absolute force when on the mound and has the highest ceiling. He's that good! The matchup isn't the best against the Giants, but it's Kershaw were talking about! He will be pitching at pitcher-friendly AT&T Park, and isn't too expensive. If your playing cash games, you know where to start.
Opponent - OAK (Cotton) Park - @SEA
FD - 31.19 DK - 20.41
Hisashi Iwakuma is at an excellent price-point, has a great matchup and has had a solid season. What more could you ask for? Eh, maybe a million dollars, but if were talking about selecting a DFS pitcher, he's one of the best SP2 out there tonight!
He'll be going up against an A's squad that he's had success against this season. He's delivered a quality start in three out of the four outings against them. Not only does he have their number, but they have also been cold. In their last 14 contest, they possess a .278 wOBA (27th in MLB), 74 wRC+ (26th in MLB) and .144 ISO (21st in MLB). Iwakuma has their numbers and the Athletics haven't been all that great offensively as of late, which is why I like the veteran tonight.
Opponent - PHI (Klein) Park - @PHI
FD - 25.24 DK - 16.26
It just wouldn't be right if I didn't include the GOAT in my final MLB article of 2016, so that's exactly what I'll do here. The great Bartolo Colon, will be going up against the Phillies today. They have been one of the worst offenses in the league when it comes to facing right-handed pitchers. They own a .298 wOBA (29th in MLB) and a 23.1 K% (5th in MLB), which is the real reason why I'm going with Colon. I guess his character, looks and the fact that he's a legend as well.
Colon has an excellent price tag and a beautiful matchup, which makes him an excellent SP2 in the early slate. And remember, Colon will always be No.1 in our hearts.
So yeah, baseball season! And we've got some goodies you can take with you. At the end of the post, we have our MLB eBook that you really ought to check out before setting even a single daily fantasy MLB lineup. It's free, below.

Your projection tool has Bartolo Colon only getting 11.82 points but in your article you are listing him as getting 16.26.
Ok, now after I updated the projection system, Colon isn't even in the projection system. Maybe he'll be added back in a little while.
