Daily Fantasy MLB Hitter Stacks for FanDuel and DraftKings- 9/28/16

Welcome to our daily fantasy baseball stacks article. Below we will be providing our favorite team stacks for tournament play based on projections from our lineup optimizer. To see all of our value picks for the day check out our Main Article.

In case you didn’t notice, we just released our brand new NFL DFS suite of tools including full projections, optimal NFL lineups and our Player Lab, which includes filters to help you create NFL lineups for FanDuel and DraftKings for any format. It’s a set of tools well beyond anything we’ve ever had, and something we feel will help our users *ahem* tackle the NFL season.

A quick heads up - we post an updates article every day in the early afternoon, EST, to catch everyone up on how things are changing as a result of whatever news has come through. We also have great talks in the comments of that article. Hope to see you there!
Stacking in DFS MLB is such an important concept if you’re looking to take down a big tournament on FanDuel or DraftKings. It’s also a good way to diversify cash games because the variance in baseball can mean wild swings (ahem) in the scoring on a particular slate. The concept is easy. You want to pile players from one or two teams into your lineups because those guys compound scores by helping each other score runs when the going is good.

Stack Targets

Detroit Tigers vs. Zach McAllister (Indians)
Park - Comerica Park

The Tigers are in a fantastic spot on Wednesday night to keep their red hot offense rolling. Over the last 14 days they rank 4th in wOBA(.339) and 3rd in wRC+(111) among all 30 teams. They come into the is game as -150 home favorites to the Indians who will toss Zach McAllister to the mound to make a spot start on Wednesday. It will be McAllister's second start of the season as he has been primarily coming out of the bullpen as a long reliever. He has shown some strikeout upside in that role with a 9.48 K/9 rate but that isn't likely to happen in a starting role where you could see hitters twice through the lineup. His 3.58 ERA is also not as good as it appears with a 4.52 xFIP , unsustainable 81% left on base rate and 3.93 BB/9 rate. Look for the Tigers to get to him early and often. They come into tonight having scored 55 runs in their last eight games.

Elite Options - Miguel Cabrera, Victor Martinez, Justin Upton, Ian Kinsler
Value Options - Cameron Maybin , J.D. Martinez, James McCann

Toronto Blue Jays vs. Chris Tillman (Orioles)
Park - Rogers Centre

With five games left in the season there is still a glimmer of hope they Jays can win the American League East division. They are going to need some help from the Yankees but all they can concentrate on is winning ball games. They have been much better as of late ranking Top 10 in wOBA and wRC+ over the last 14 days. They did suffer an injury to leadoff hitter Devon Travis who got caught up in the scrum vs. the Yankees a few days back which opens the door to Ezequiel Carrera who should slide right back into the role tonight after filling in last night and going 2 for 4 with a home run, 2 RBI and three runs scored. The middle of the lineup is also starting to heat up and the Jays are a team you can pluck stack value from the bottom of the order to save a little in salary. The Jays get a decent matchup tonight against Chris Tillman who started the year off strong but has faltered as of late. Over his last four starts he has allowed 19 hits and 13 earned runs in just 15.1 innings pitched equaling an awful 6.41 xFIP. Five runs scored for the Jays tonight would be a nice floor and they have the upside for a double digit explosion.

Elite Options - Josh Donaldson, Edwin Encarnacion, Jose Bautista
Value Options - Troy Tulowitzki, Kevin Pillar, Russell Martin

Also Consider: St. Louis Cardinals vs. Anthony Desclafini (Reds)
