Daily Fantasy Football News and Notes FanDuel and DraftKings – Week 3 9/25/16

In this article, we'll be breaking down the top news around the league and provide you with an analysis of what we expect to happen. We will also provide you with an "every lineup guy" section, just like we did for baseball. As always, these picks are informed by our lineup optimizer, the NFL spread for each contest, year to date NFL stats, and so on. So let's welcome football back into our lives, and let's get this show on the show on the road!

In case you didn’t notice, on Saturday we released our brand new NFL DFS suite of tools including full projections, optimal NFL lineups and Player Lab which includes filters to help you create NFL lineups for FanDuel and DraftKings. It’s a robust set of tools; well beyond anything we’ve ever had and something we feel will help our users *ahem* tackle the NFL season.

Using tools like these for the NFL season is crucial and you can grab a free trial to test out yourself.

A quick heads up - we post an updates article every day in the early afternoon, EST, to catch everyone up on how things are changing as a result of whatever news has come through. We also have great talks in the comments of that article. Hope to see you there!

NFL News and Notes

  • Doug Baldwin (knee) practiced in full on Thursday and is expected to play on Sunday.
  • Thomas Rawls (shin) was not able to participate in Thursday's practice and we will consider him questionable for Sunday. If he's unable to give it a go,Christine Michael will get the start.
  • Chris Ivory (illness) practiced in full on Sunday and is expected to play on Sunday. It will be interesting to see how many snaps he plays.
  • Quincy Enunwa practiced in full on Thursday and is expected to suit up on Sunday.
  • Larry Fitzgerald practiced in full on Thursday and will be ready to go on Sunday.
  • Willie Snead (toe) missed Thursday's practice and I'm not too sure how serious this injury is. For now, we'll consider him questionable. The Saints play Monday Night, so he has an extra day to heal.
  • T.Y. Hilton (knee) was limited in Thursday's practice, but I expect him to be ready to play on Sunday.
  • Mohamed Sanu (ankle) did not practice on Thursday, but is expected to play on Monday Night.
  • Antonio Gates (hamstring) looks doubtful for Sunday. With Gates looking doubtful for Sunday, you can expect rookie, Hunter Henry, to get the start. Coach Mike McCoy was praising the rook in practice today, so he could be an interesting DFS play this weekend.
  • Russell Wilson (ankle) said he's feeling better this week and will play on Sunday.
  • Devonte Parker (hamstring) was limited in Thursday's practice, but is expected to play on Sunday.
  • Rashad Jennings (thumb) is expected to play on Sunday even though he suffered a thumb injury in last weeks contest. It will be interesting to see how he performs on Sunday against the Redskins.
  • Eric Ebron (back) practiced on Thursday and is expected to play on Sunday.
  • Alshon Jeffery (knee) did not practice on Thursday. I'm not sure if it was a rest day or if he's seriously hurt, so I'll keep you posted
  • Julio Jones (calf) didn't practice on Thursday, but the Falcons play on Monday, so I'm not too worried about his status, (yet).
  • Delanie Walker (knee) practiced on Thursday and is on track to play on Sunday.
  • Eric Decker (shoulder) was limited in Thursday's practice, but he said he's going to play on Sunday, so I'll take his word for it.
  • Arian Foster (groin) didn't practice on Thursday and is doubtful for Sunday's contest. We can expect Miami to use all of their running backs on Sunday, and roll with the hot-hand.
  • Brandon Marshall (knee) did not practice on Thursday and his status is unknown for Sunday. I'll keep you updated on his status as well.
  • Corey Coleman (hand) is expected to miss the next 4-6 weeks.
  • Markus Wheaton has practiced in full this week and is on track to play on Sunday.
  • Danny Woodhead (knee) is now out for the year after tearing his ACL last Sunday. Look for Melvin Gordon to be more involved in the offense.
  • Jonathan Stewart looks doubtful for Sunday and it will be interesting to see what the Panthers decide to roll out on Sunday. As of now, Cameron Artis-Payne is expected to start.
  • Adrian Peterson (knee) will be out for a significant amount of time and Jerick McKinnon is expected to get the start.

    Tournament Stack

Joe Flacco, Mike Wallace and Dennis Pitta (BAL) vs. JAX

Everyone knows that the top stack of the week is that Monday night game featuring the Saints and Falcons. So rather than boring you with information you already know, I thought I'd go ahead and give you a stack that might catch you by surprise. So without further ado -- I present to you -- the one-and-only, Baltimore Ravens.

Yeah you might think I'm crazy and maybe I am, but I like this stack in tournaments. Yes, Flacco and Wallace are as streaky as they come, but they have great matchups and Vegas has this game sitting at a 47-point total. That total is tied for 3rd highest on the week and I wouldn't be surprised if it went over.

Flacco and company will be going up against a Jags' defense that struggled last week against the Chargers. They gave up a total of 357 total yards and 38 points (yikes). With the Ravens inabilty to run the football, I'm expecting Flacco to have a busy day throwing the football and racking up those yards!
