Welcome to our daily article breaking down some of the other stacking targets on this slate. We covered our system's top value plays in our daily picks article and pitching breakdown but here we will look at other dudes to consider.
In case you didn’t notice, on Saturday we released our brand new NFL DFS suite of tools including full projections, optimal NFL lineups and Player Lab which includes filters to help you create NFL lineups for FanDuel and DraftKings. It’s a robust set of tools; well beyond anything we’ve ever had and something we feel will help our users *ahem* tackle the NFL season.
Using tools like these for the NFL season is crucial and you can grab a free trial to test out yourself.
A quick heads up - we post an updates article every day in the early afternoon, EST, to catch everyone up on how things are changing as a result of whatever news has come through. We also have great talks in the comments of that article. Hope to see you there!
Stacking in DFS MLB is such an important concept if you’re looking to take down a big tournament on FanDuel or DraftKings. It’s also a good way to diversify cash games because the variance in baseball can mean wild swings (ahem) in the scoring on a particular slate. The concept is easy. You want to pile players from one or two teams into your lineups because those guys compound scores by helping each other score runs when the going is good.
Boston Red Sox vs. Bryan Mitchell (NYY)
In the early slate I like the Red Sox quite a bit. They will be going up against Bryan Mitchell, who only has two major league starts under his belt. He's 25 years young and pitching at Fenway Park for your third start of the year is no easy task, especially against this Red Sox lineup. Not only do they feature a lineup with lot’s big names, but those big names have also been crushing the baseball as of late. In their last 14 contests, they are boasting a .194 ISO (7th in MLB) along with a .355 wOBA (1st in MLB). The baseball looks like a watermelon to them and I expect them to continue to put runs on the board in bunches.
My top 4 guys to stack: Hanley Ramirez, David Ortiz, Dustin Pedroia and Mookie Betts.
Texas Rangers vs. Raul Alcantara (OAK)
Raul Alcantara also only has two major league starts under his belt this season, but boy, it's been ugly. In those two starts, he's sporting an xFIP and ERA over seven. I know it's only two starts, but it's safe to say he's struggled so far. That's not the only reason why I'm picking on him though. The other reason is because he will be going up against the Rangers!
In their last 14 games, they own a .343 wOBA (5th in MLB) and a .197 ISO (6th in MLB). They've been crushing the baseball, just like the Red Sox, which is why I love them, as a main slate stack.
My top 4 guys to stack: Adrian Beltre, Jonathan Lucroy, Rougned Odor and Carlos Gomez.
Colorado Rockies vs. Edwin Jackson (SD)
Did you really think I was going to forget about Coors Field? Of course I wasn't. Last night was a slugfest and I expect tonight to be the same way. I like the Rockies over the Padres -- and it's not even close.
Edwin Jackson will be on the bump for the Padres and I see him struggling in this contest. His 34.9% hard contact rate and 1.60 WHIP isn't suited for Coors Field. I see him working a lot from the stretch and I also see the Rockies crushing the baseball. I'm all over the Rockies tonight.
My top 4 guys to stack: Nolan Arenado, DJ LeMahieu, Charlie Blackmon and Nick Hundley.
