Welcome to our new daily article breaking down some of the other pitching targets on this slate. We covered our system's top value plays in our daily picks article, but here we'll look at a bunch of other solid plays to consider.
In case you didn’t notice, we just released our brand new NFL DFS suite of tools including full projections, optimal NFL lineups and our Player Lab, which includes filters to help you create NFL lineups for FanDuel and DraftKings for any format. It’s a set of tools well beyond anything we’ve ever had, and something we feel will help our users *ahem* tackle the NFL season.

Pitching Targets

After going through a rough two game patch against the Mariners, Hamels bounced back against the Angels limiting them to two earned runs in six innings while striking out six batters. He will most definitely be a pitcher I will consider in cash games at a very affordable mid $9K price tag on both sites. The Rangers are big -185 favorites at home vs. the bottom feeding A's and while they have won four straight, the A's still rank 27th in wOBA(.295) against left handed pitching. The floor is high for cash games but the upside is somewhat limited for tournaments as the A's don't strikeout much(18.9% vs. LH pitching & 17.3% overall in the last 14 days).
Opponent - HOU (McHugh) Park - @SEA
FD - 36.88 DK - 24.45
I stress right off the top that Felix is GPP only today as the risk is extremely high as it is very tough to know what we are going to get on a start by start basis. At times he has shown flashes of the old Felix with elite an ground ball rate and double digit K upside. Then there has been times where you wonder if he is still cut out for the big leagues giving up home runs at will and not missing bats at all. He rebounded with a six innings of shutout ball last start after back to back outings where the Rangers crushed him. I would completely avoid on FanDuel at close to $10K but will some some exposure on DraftKings where he is going to be very low owned.
Opponent - STL (Weaver) Park - @SF
FD - 31.84 DK - 20.93
Matt Moore is trending in the right direction at the moment and still sits in the low $8K range on both sites. Depending on how you look at it Moore is having an interesting start since joining the Giants at the trade deadline. He is struggling with his control walking just over five batters per nine in his first eight starts but has shown elite strikeout upside with a 9.26 K/9 rate. He was blown up twice for five and six earned runs but one of those came in Coors is not friendly to any pitcher the majority of the time. Everything I just mentioned leans me towards using Moore in GPP only today against the Cardinals. While the matchup seems unfavorable at first glance the Cardinals actually rank 21st in wOBA(.317) against left handed pitching with a 21.2% strikeout rate. The salary relief is very welcome on a night where there is a ton of great stacking options.
