Week 2 has plenty of stacking options on the board this week. Two of them we mention, the Giants and Saints will likely be chalkier plays across the slate. But we wanted to touch on a couple that will likely go lower owned.
In case you didn’t notice, we just released our brand new NFL DFS suite of tools including full projections, optimal NFL lineups and our Player Lab, which includes filters to help you create NFL lineups for FanDuel and DraftKings for any format. It’s a set of tools well beyond anything we’ve ever had, and something we feel will help our users *ahem* tackle the NFL season.

Week 2 NFL Stacks
Stack #1 - New York Giants vs. New Orleans Saints
QB - Eli Manning
Elite WR - Odell Beckham Jr.
Value Options - Sterling Sheppard, Victor Cruz
Punt Option - Larry Donnell
Targeting the Saints/Raiders in Week 1 proved to be a very profitable stacking strategy as they combined for 69 points. This is going to be a trend all season with the Saints as they are once again apart of the highest projected total of the week against the Giants. The Saints defense allowed 319 passing yards to Derek Carr and another 167 yards on the ground from the halfbacks. They also took a big hit losing top corner Delvin Breaux for 4-6 weeks minimum. Look for Eli to take more than a few shots to OBJ in man to man situations due to the emergence of rookie Sterling Sheppard and the return of veteran Victor Cruz. If you are looking for a punt at the TE position to get OBJ to fit in the stack consider Larry Donnell who received just one redzone target but caught for a touchdown last week.
Stack #2 - New Orleans Saints vs. New York Giants
QB - Drew Brees
Elite WR - Brandon Cooks, Willie Snead
Value Options - Michael Thomas, Coby Fleener
Looking back at the Millionaire Maker on both sites last week we saw a stack of Drew Brees, Brandon Cooks and Willie Snead on both winning lineups. The thing that stood out the most was seeing all three of them under 10% across the board. While that ownership is due to go up the upside will exist week in and week out due their defense being so bad with them playing catch up most of the time. Snead comes at a big discount on DraftKings again this week and will most likely command the highest ownership. It will be much closer on FanDuel as Cooks is just $1,200 more than Snead. If you want to get really sneaky in the larger GPP's there are a couple players to consider. One is rookie Michael Thomas who caught all six of his targets in week one for 58 yards. The other is TE Coby Fleener who should be extremely low owned after a disappointing opening week catching just one ball on four targets for 6 yards.
Stack #3 - Carolina Panthers vs. San Francisco 49ers
QB - Cam Newton
Elite Options - Kelvin Benjamin, Greg Olsen
Value Options - Devin Funchess, Tedd Ginn
Rolling with the Panthers this week is a little risky as they are the biggest favorite(-13) on the slate. I think the risk of the blowout plus the high price on Cam Newton will leave the Panthers stack fairly low owned. Even if the Panthers do end up blowing the 49ers the offense flows through Cam more than any other QB due to his running ability which gives him a monster floor. The thing I like best about the matchup is the fact that Chip Kelly has taken the 49ers from 30th in pace in last year to 1st this year. This gives the Panthers offense more plays on the field and more opportunity to score fantasy points. In the game against the Broncos Cam relied heavily on his #1 WR option Kelvin Benjamin who picked up seven catches on 12 targets for 91 yards and a touchdown. Greg Olsen was also heavily involved in the passing game with seven catches on nine targets for 73 yards. I was originally thinking Stewart at Running Back would be a nice sleeper option if the Panthers were ahead in the second half but tread carefully as he was added to the injury report mid week with an ankle issue but is expected to play.
Stack #4 - Arizona Cardinals vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
QB - Carson Palmer
Elite WR - Larry Fitzgerald
Value Options - Michael Floyd, John Brown
RB Option - David Johnson
The Cardinals make the cut as a top stack this week in a matchup vs. the Buccaneers. Tampa Bay shut down the Falcons run game last week forcing Matt Ryan to go to the air where he picked up 334 yards passing in a losing effort. The Bucs defense will have an even bigger test this week with the Cards who have a much more balanced offense. They can run the ball with David Johnson although that may not be the early game plan as the Bucs look very strong vs. the run this year. The nice thing about Johnson is that he is also an excellent pass catcher and saw the third most targets(6) of any Cardinal in week one. No matter the game plan David Johnson is going to be involve heavily in the offense this entire season. In the passing game look for Carson Palmer to air it out a ton to his favorite target Larry Fitzgerald. He caught eight of his 10 targets in week one against the Patriots and gets an elite matchup this week in the slot. According to Pro Football Focus WR/CB chart he is going to be facing Vernon Hargeaves III who ranks as one of the worst slot corners in all of football. Michael Floyd and John Brown have much tougher matchups on the outside but will also be much lower owned making them deep GPP targets if you are entering large field tournaments.
