Daily Fantasy MLB Hitter Stacks FanDuel & DraftKings 9/14/16

Welcome to our daily article breaking down some of the other stacking targets on this slate. We covered our system's top value plays in our daily picks article and pitching breakdown but here we will look at other plays to consider if you're trying to win big in a large tournament.

In case you didn’t notice, we just released our brand new NFL DFS suite of tools including full projections, optimal NFL lineups and our Player Lab, which includes filters to help you create NFL lineups for FanDuel and DraftKings for any format. It’s a set of tools well beyond anything we’ve ever had, and something we feel will help our users *ahem* tackle the NFL season.

Stack Targets

Washington Nationals vs. Robert Gsellman (Mets)
Park - Nationals Park

The Nationals have the highest projected team total of the early slate and are my top stacking option today. They get a prime matchup vs. a young pitcher in Gsellman who struggled in Triple-A this season going 1-5 in nine starts with a 5.73 ERA and just an average K rate(7.40 K/9). Since being called up he has made one appearance out of the bullpen and three starts and compiled a 4.33 xFIP while struggling with control walking close to four batters per nine. The stack should start at the top of the lineup with Trea Turner(.391) and Daniel Murphy(.423) and Bryce Harper(.358) who who all hold wOBA's north of .350 against right handed pitching. You can then extract some value from the middle to bottom of the lineup with Wilson Ramos, Ryan Zimmerman and Anthony Rendon.

Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Jeff Hoffman (Rockies)
Park - Chase Field

The Diamondbacks come into Wednesday with the highest team projection of the day at nearly six runs as the Rockies come to town. The D Backs have been terrible this season with the second worst record in the National League but are red hot lately and have scored 23 runs in their last two games. It is very likely the hot streak continues as they are another team facing a late callup who doesn't look ready for the big leagues at this point. After seeing improvement moving from Double-A to Triple-A this season Hoffman was called up in late August and has hit a wall. The K rate(4.03 K/9) has fallen off the table while the control(5.09 BB/9) has gotten worse. The ERA(5.60) isn't good and appears it will get worse as the xFIP(6.22) suggests. Look for the D Backs to jump all over Hoffman early getting into the leagues 2nd worst bullpen(5.09 ERA). Paul Goldschmidt should be the core of your stack with Jean Segura, Chris Owings(if hitting 2nd again), and Jake Lamb making nice complimentary options. You can even consider Brandon Drury who has been red hot lately with a .651 wOBA and three home runs over the last seven days.
