Daily Fantasy MLB Hitter Stacks FanDuel & DraftKings 9/10/16
Welcome to our daily article breaking down some of the other stacking targets on this slate. We covered our system's top value plays in our daily picks article and pitching breakdown but here we will look at other dudes to consider.
In case you didn’t notice, on Saturday we released our brand new NFL DFS suite of tools including full projections, optimal NFL lineups and Player Lab which includes filters to help you create NFL lineups for FanDuel and DraftKings. It’s a robust set of tools; well beyond anything we’ve ever had and something we feel will help our users *ahem* tackle the NFL season.
Using tools like these for the NFL season is crucial and you can grab a free 2 WEEK trial to test out yourself.
A quick heads up - we post an updates article every day in the early afternoon, EST, to catch everyone up on how things are changing as a result of whatever news has come through. We also have great talks in the comments of that article. Hope to see you there!
Stacking in DFS MLB is such an important concept if you’re looking to take down a big tournament on FanDuel or DraftKings. It’s also a good way to diversify cash games because the variance in baseball can mean wild swings (ahem) in the scoring on a particular slate. The concept is easy. You want to pile players from one or two teams into your lineups because those guys compound scores by helping each other score runs when the going is good.
Stack Targets
Texas Rangers vs. Daniel Wright (LAA)
Daniel Wright owns an ERA over 7 and an xFIP over 5, so it's safe to say it has not gone his way so far in the big leagues. Granted, he's only pitched in 13 MLB innings this season, so the sample size is just too small. So why exactly am I picking on him you may be asking yourselves? Well, it's because he's going up against the Texas Rangers.
Do you know who owns the highest wOBA over the last two weeks? You guessed it -- it's the Rangers! Not only are they on top in that category, but they also own a .213 ISO (5th in MLB). They are hitting the crap out of baseball and I see that continuing today against the rookie.
My top 4 guys to stack: Rougned Odor, Adrian Beltre, Carlos Beltran and Ian Desmond.
Minnesota Twins vs. Mike Clevinger(CLE)
Clevinger has 37 innings of work in the big leagues and it has not been pretty. He's sporting an ERA over 5 along with a 4.85 xFIP. You see why I like the Twins as well in this contest? Not only has he struggled, but the Twins have also been on a tear. They own a .218 ISO (3rd in MLB) and a .358 wOBA (2nd in MLB).
I love the Twins and the Rangers a ton tonight. They are both facing pitchers that have struggled and are tearing the cover off the ball. It's crazy how both of these ball clubs are in very similar spots. Guess you can pick one of these teams out of the hat to decide which one you are going to stack tonight. Yes -- I'll be doing that myself.
My top 4 guys to stack: Brian Dozier, Miguel Sano, Byron Buxton and Joe Mauer.
Colorado Rockies vs. Christian Friedrich (SD)
Alright, enough picking on the guys who haven't had a whole lot of experience in the big leagues. Lets pick on somebody our own size! And that guy is Christian Friedrich. In 101 innings of work, Friedrich owns a 5.00 xFIP along with a 1.51 WHIP. The southpaw has had some issues with control (9.1 BB%), so look for the Rockies to have plenty of opportunities to drive in some runs. I know this game isn't as Coors, but this matchup is way too good to pass up on.
My top 4 guys to stack: Nolan Arenado, DJ LeMahieu, Charlie Blackmon and David Dahl.
