Pitching Targets
A.J. Cole FD 6500 DK 8300
Opponent - PHI (Asher) Park - @WSH
FD - 30.39 DK - 19.67
The pitcher position is absolutely horrible tonight, so be warned. These next couple guys are ones that you can use in your tournaments, but I do not feel comfortable recommending them for cash games. That being said, A.j. Cole is very close to cash game consideration for me. The Phillies are absolutely atrocious and he is a youngster with a bit of upside. Cole has been very good on the young season with a sub .300 wOBA against both lefties and righties. The Phillies, like Cole, has held a sub .300 wOBA against right handers, which is the worst in the league and absolutely pitiful. They have no hitters that scare me and while they do have a couple power bats, they also strikeout at an unbelievable clip. While Cole is definitely young and volatile, his talent and match up force you to give him some consideration.
Taijuan Walker FD 7400 DK 7300
Opponent - TEX (Holland) Park - @SEA
FD - 28.6 DK - 18.05
This one is definitely tough to stomach. It comes down to talent. Taijuan Walker is one of the most talented pitchers on the slate, and with talent comes upside. Walker has had some huge games in the past against good opponents and I could see it happening once again here. The Rangers have moved from the hitter friendly Globe Life Park to a very pitcher friendly park in Safeco Field. The home runs will be a lot tougher to come by and the increased foul territory will give more opportunities for foul outs. Walker has held a very good .303 combined wOBA over the last few seasons and while he has certainly had some hiccups, they have been short and he has returned with fire. Like I said, this is far from a cash game play, but it is definitely a tournament one.
