Pitching Targets

Cole Hamels FD 9700 DK 12200
Opponent - SEA (Hernandez) Park - @SEA
FD - 34.23 DK - 22.61

We touched on Scherzer and Verlander in our main picks article, and will now touch on 2 other guys that can be used in tournaments, and maybe cash games if you are feeling risky. The first guy we will look at is Cole Hamels, who will be taking on the Seattle Mariners. While the Mariners have a few good bats against lefties, the majority of their lineup struggles against southpaws. Over the course of 2000 at-bats, the Mariners have sported a lackluster .317 wOBA that is backed up by a 21.4% hard contact rate and a .168 ISO. The game will take place in Safeco Field, which is one of the absolute best pitcher ballparks in the league. While I definitely prefer Scherzer and Verlander, Hamels makes for a very interesting option across the board.

Felix Hernandez FD 9800 DK 8200
Opponent - TEX (Hamels) Park - @SEA
FD - 33.22 DK - 22.14

This is more of a price play, as Felix Hernandez is only $8200 on DraftKings, which is utter ridiculous. While Hernandez hasn't been necessarily great this year, he has still held very strong numbers. Hernandez has held a .304 wOBA against both lefties and righties, with those numbers being backed up by his peripherals and batted ball rates. He will be taking on the Texas Rangers, who are a very good hitting team. While the Rangers are a very good team, they will be moving to Safeco Field, which is a huge downgrade from Globe Life Park. While Hernandez is bit lower on my list than the other 3 guys, he is definitely on it.
